Casual CLOAKROOM ATTENDANT
The Arts Club - Reception

Description

A Stage Unlike Any Other

In 1863, a group of artists, writers, and free thinkers gathered with a shared conviction: that the finest conversation, the boldest ideas, and the warmest hospitality belonged together under one roof. Charles Dickens dined here. Whistler argued here. Rodin was inspired here.

The Arts Club was born not as a venue, but as a living expression of creative life — and it has never stopped.

At the heart of that life today are the people and spaces that bring our club to life every day. This is more than an operation — it is an environment where members connect, create, and return time and time again because something about it feels truly special.

It takes an exceptional person to be part of that.

That person might be you.

The Role

We are looking for a professional, welcoming and detail-oriented Casual Cloakroom Attendant to join our team.

As a key point of contact for our members, you will be responsible for providing a warm and friendly welcome, taking care of personal belongings, and ensuring the cloakroom operates smoothly and efficiently. You’ll play an important role in creating a positive and memorable experience for every member who visits the Club.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and farewell members in a warm, professional and friendly manner.
  • Receive, store and return members’ personal belongings safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all items are securely organised and handled with care.
  • Respond to member requests promptly, professionally and courteously.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and well-presented cloakroom area at all times.
  • Assist members by providing directions to the Club’s food and beverage outlets.
  • Provide information about current and upcoming art exhibitions, music events and Club activities.
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of service and ensure members feel welcomed and valued.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual who has worked in a similar customer-facing, hospitality or service role.

You will be a confident communicator with excellent people skills and a natural ability to make members feel welcome.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within hospitality, luxury service or a private members’ club.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain organised in a busy environment.
  • Impeccable personal presentation and grooming.
  • A confident, professional and welcoming personality.
  • A genuine passion for providing exceptional customer service.
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent spoken English and communication skills.
  • A calm, courteous and professional approach at all times.

In return, we offer an excellent range of rewards and benefits, including:

  • Private medical benefits
  • Life Assurance
  • Long Service Awards
  • Reward Gateway Benefits Scheme
  • Discounts on food & beverage in our restaurants and sister businesses
  • An exciting range of learning and development programmes & opportunities for continual progression
  • Enhanced maternity pay
  • Enhanced sickness pay
  • Complimentary meals while on shift
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Birthday extra day off
