Description

At The Headland, we blend Heritage with Heart to create unforgettable experiences. We are deeply committed to putting the Cornish community first and protecting our stunning coastline. As a proud EarthCheck partner, eco-friendly practices are in our DNA. We don't just talk about sustainability; we live it every day. Together, we provide effortless, elevated hospitality in spaces designed for everyone—where our guests (and their four-legged friends!) can relax, play, and make lifelong memories.

The Role

We are searching for a confident and communicative Reservationist to ensure our guests’ expectations are continually surpassed. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for many of our customers across our digital and telephone channels, defining the service they receive from the moment they get in touch. If you are a flexible, problem-solving professional who thrives in a busy, thriving independent hotel environment, we would love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Liaising with our customers via telephone and email, as well as managing contact across multiple platforms such as over the phone and via email.
  • Resolving queries at the first point of contact using a proactive, problem-solving approach to deliver an outstanding, seamless customer experience.
  • Building quick rapport and handling queries from a variety of guests—from VIPs to first-time visitors—adapting your communication style to meet their needs.
  • Collaborating with various departments and supporting colleagues to ensure guest preferences are detailed and exceptional standards are maintained across the hotel.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a similar reservations or customer service role is essential.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, with the confidence to multitask and record information accurately with high attention to detail.
  • Proven capability and experience in utilising IT systems and software.
  • A flexible and adaptable mindset, with the willingness to adapt shifts and duties at short notice to support the team.

Perks & Benefits

We believe in rewarding our team with exceptional perks. When you join us, you’ll enjoy:

  • Complimentary breakfast, lunch, or dinner provided for all shifts over 6 hours
  • On-site parking
  • Gym access & weekly swim session
  • Complimentary stay after 1 years’ service
  • 40% off spa products
  • 25% off spa treatments
  • Complimentary meals in each of our restaurants, once a year
  • Special rate for Pride of Britain Hotels
  • Discounted surf lessons
  • Shared Gratuities: Gratuities are shared equally among the whole team, ensuring everyone is rewarded for their part in our success.

As well as regular awards and recognition:

  • Monthly recognition awards
  • Annual festive awards event
  • Long service awards dinner

Contract & Hours: We are offering either a full-time position at 40 hours per week (reducing to 20 hours per week from June 2027) or a part-time position which would be either permanent or contracted until June 2027, based entirely on your preference.

To Apply

If you have what it takes to join a vibrant, multi-award-winning hotel, we would love to hear from you!
