Our Retail Coordinator

In this role, you will be a key member of the Product Team, working closely with the Merchandising and Retail Teams. Collaborating with buyers, product developers, warehouse logistics, finance, and retail staff, you will ensure retail products are accurately set up across multiple systems and make it to stores on time with training notes and appropriate point-of-sale materials. You will coordinate with Finance to arrange and execute monthly stock takes for each retail site, taking the lead on this critical process. Additionally, you will support the Retail Operations Manager with regular ordering and new product launches, while assisting the Merchandising Manager by providing sales data for each shop.

You will also manage the back-office functions of the retail till systems, including cleaning up historical data, actioning price changes, and adding new products and barcodes. Working with shopkeepers, you’ll ensure the till systems remain user-friendly and efficient. A key responsibility will be maintaining alignment across all systems used by the retail team, including the Till, Scales, Range Plan, and Sage.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Optimising customer checkout experience in retail stores through management of product barcodes and retail systems
  •  Managing barcode creation software and database
  •  Project managing monthly retail shop stock takes
  •  Responsibility for good stock hygiene
  •  Working closely with the Retail Team with a hands-on approach in store
  •  Maintaining retail pricing

  • Intermediate Excel Skills
  • Retail Experience included knowledge of tills, stock counting and FIFO
  • Customer Service Experience
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Market awareness, competititve insight and product value understanding

Ideally:
  • Familiarity with SAGE X3
  • Experience in stock management/inventory control

Where you'll be working - Our Product Team

The Product Team oversees all aspects of product across The Newt estate, spanning retail (shops and online), hospitality, events, and wholesale. This includes buying, merchandising, new product development, packaging, and procurement. Collaborating with internal departments, the team enhances key pillars of the estate—such as the hotel, gardens, and visitor attractions—by adding products that align with The Newt’s vision of seasonality, quality, and local sourcing.

Within the Product Team, the Merchandising Team ensures accurate stock control of food, drinks, packaging, and consumables. By tracking BBE dates and maintaining clear records, we minimise waste and provide full visibility of product availability for retail and hospitality. The team also manages till systems, conducts monthly stock takes, and oversees smooth new product launches and de-listing processes.
