Retail manager
· Location: Bodmin Jail Museum, PL31 2NR
About the Role
You will be responsible to run the shop properly and make sure it hits its budget. You are responsible for having the right products, at the right price, in the right place, with the right staff. The shop must be clean, well-stocked and well presented. You also run the online shop and make sure retail is sold through the website and social media.
What You’ll Do
· Delivering the retail budget.
· Choosing and developing products that sell and make profit.
· Pricing products correctly to maximise sales and margin.
· Ordering key items on time so stock is always available.
· Controlling stock levels and preventing waste or loss.
· Making sure the shop is clean, tidy, and well presented at all times.
· Stocking shelves and displays so they look full and attractive.
· Managing retail staffing and rotas so the shop is covered and within budget.
· Training staff so they know the products and sell confidently.
· Running the online shop, keeping products live, accurate, and up to date.
· Working with the Social Media Coordinator to promote products and drive online and in-shop sales.
· Tracking sales and stock and reporting results clearly to management.
· Spotting problems early and fixing them quickly.
