Procurement Manager

  • Up to £45,000 per annum.
  • Plus, up to £2,400 per year in tips (paid weekly, based on last year’s earnings), giving total potential earnings of £47,400 per year.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic process driven Procurement Lead to drive forward the commercial buying at Rick Steins, supporting our ten restaurants and retail functions.

We are looking for a results focused manager who will proactively lead the procurement function, liaising with key stakeholders to realise the business goals. A clear understanding of supplier economics and an inquisitive nature to identify and track market opportunities is essential.

We are a people business and we want you to be close to the action, understanding the needs of our customers and team is essential to being able to source the right products that enables our strategy.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of a multi-functional business and of gift and retail buying and/or beverage.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Line management responsibility
  • Responsible for a c£10M spend portfolio across a varying range of suppliers
  • Will develop and implement clear category procurement plans to support business needs
  • Work closely with stakeholders to be an enabler of the over aching customer centric company strategy
  • Work with strategic supply partners to identify new opportunities and ensure the day to day performance achieves target levels
  • Develop and deliver processes for enforcing policies and contractual governance
  • Partner with operational sites to ensure buying compliance and accurate invoice management.
  • Oversee the optimisation of the procurement software, enabling efficiencies, controls and reporting.

Experience:

  • CIPs/CPSM qualified
  • 5+ years of experience in a procurement lead/management role with sourcing, procurement or business systems and operations
  • Proven track record in delivering results and maximising opportunities with strategic supply partners
  • Fully competent in Microsoft Office suite, with particular attention to excel
  • Experience of procurement portals - Access Procurement system ProcureWizard desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in the hospitality, FMCG, or foodservice would be an advantage.
