Commercial Analyst

  • Up to £35,000 per annum.
  • Plus, up to £2,400 per year in tips (paid weekly, based on last year’s earnings), giving total potential earnings of £37,400 per year.

We are looking for a data and process enthusiast to drive the commercial performance at the Rick Stein Group. Working closely with the commercial team, you will deliver valuable insights that will enable cost savings and efficiency gains across our restaurant sites, retail functions & supply chain.

We are looking for someone who is a self-starter and will proactively combine market trends, historic insights and prepare forecast data to deliver results and support commercial decision making. A clear understanding of supplier economics and utilising market insights is essential.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within commercial or procurement teams, be competent in handling big data from multiple sources and have experience in hospitality and/or retail industries.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Building and delivering accurate commercial buying forecasts and management reports to drive stock efficiency.
  • Preparing KPI reports for monthly board decks, insight packs, and supplier performance updates.
  • Analysing supplier and product mix trends to optimise profitability.
  • Identifying commercial opportunities from market insights, pricing documents and other supplier data to maximise returns.
  • Partnering with management to improve cost management and budget planning.
  • Ensuring systems and processes are robust to improve data quality and process compliance.
  • Supporting the supplier onboarding process to ensure system and data compliance.
  • Championing process improvements with the commercial team and reporting on the efficiencies from best practice.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a Commercial, Business, or Financial Analyst role
  • Proven track record of building forecast and automated models in Excel
  • Strong commercial insight and analytical thinking
  • Experience in building and delivering regular KPI reporting
  • Comfortable interpreting and communicating financial data to stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in the foodservice, FMCG, or hospitality would be an advantage but not essential.
  • A proactive approach to process improvement and problem-solving
