Description

Commercial Manager

  • £45,000-£50,000 per annum.
  • Plus, up to £2,400 per year in tips (paid weekly, based on last year’s earnings), giving total potential earnings of £52,400 per year.
  • Permanent Contract 40hr week.

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Commercial Manager to join our Finance team. This is a crucial role responsible for managing supplier services and contracts, optimising operational performance, and driving commercial success across the business. You’ll lead a capable team, ensuring they are motivated, developed, and empowered to deliver outstanding results in quality, cost, and service.

You’ll be a strategic thinker, commercially astute, and passionate about building strong relationships both internally and externally to support the company’s long-term goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier services and contracts end-to-end — from assessing business requirements to tenders, negotiations, and proposal submissions for approval.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring robust supplier governance and compliance with all legislative and company standards.
  • Oversee centralised stock locations, maintaining secure, efficient, and well-managed inventory and logistics operations.
  • Identify and deliver technology and system optimisation projects that support the company’s commercial strategy and drive cost efficiency.
  • Manage the relationship with the outsourced IT partner, setting clear objectives, monitoring performance against KPIs, and maintaining strong cyber security awareness and compliance.
  • Act as the company’s Data Protection Officer, leading on data governance and providing first-line support for any data security matters.
  • Partner with the Operations Director to align commercial and operational priorities.
  • Lead and line manage the centralised warehouse/logistics team, fostering accountability, high standards, and performance excellence.
  • Support the Finance Director with ad hoc commercial and operational duties.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in a commercial, procurement, or operations management role.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of supply chain processes, contract management, and compliance.
  • Strong IT literacy, with the ability to oversee technical projects and partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams effectively.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to data protection and governance.
  • Strong financial acumen and business partnering skills.
