Be a part of something new and exciting; find your place at Riverstone

Up to £60,000 (gross) a year starting salary, plus performance-related bonus

Be our Maintenance Manager, responsible for all maintenance and health and safety at our Riverstone Kensington residence.

Let’s start with what is a Riverstone Residence? Think of a blend of outstanding apartments, with the services of a private members club and a luxury hotel. Riverstone offers a community for over 65’s that assists with maintaining an active, independent and rewarding lifestyle whilst offering the reassurance of service, security and well-being support

We want you to bring your experience and knowledge to bear in setting best in class standards for health and safety and in doing so, deliver an exceptional experience to our Residents, their families and guests, in line with the Riverstone brand. Responsible for leading the maintenance function across Riverstone Kensington, you will be the technical and compliance authority for maintenance, hazard management and building systems. You'll be responsible for setting standards that enable your team of Maintenance Technicians and contractors to deliver a safe and reliable service.

Key responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager role

  • Own statutory compliance, building safety requirements and maintenance standards, ensuring all obligations are met and evidenced.
  • Manage and continuously improve planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes to maximise reliability and minimise disruption.
  • Lead, coach and develop Maintenance Technicians, creating a high-performing and resident-focused team culture.
  • Oversee contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
  • Provide expert oversight of building systems, hazard management and maintenance risk, acting as the technical authority across your sites.
  • Prioritise maintenance activity, balancing reactive repairs, planned works and resident impact to keep buildings operating effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with Front of House, Concierge and Duty Management teams to ensure maintenance services support an exceptional resident experience.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, reporting and systems, using data and insight to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Champion a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement, ensuring consistent standards are maintained across all sites.

This role will be great for you if you…

  • have a genuine and deep-rooted interest in others and enjoy building long-term relationships. You are great listener, show real empathy and have that ‘real feel’ for how to anticipate the needs of others. You live it in the personal example you set and in leading others.
  • are passionate about building safety, compliance and creating well-maintained environments that people are proud to call home.
  • enjoy balancing hands-on problem-solving with strategic oversight, ensuring both day-to-day issues and long-term priorities are effectively managed.
  • have strong knowledge of statutory compliance, planned preventative maintenance and contractor management.
  • are a confident leader who can motivate, coach and develop a team while setting high standards and holding people accountable.
  • want to take your experience and expertise to be a part of creating a new lifestyle choice for the over-65s. You will be qualified and have experience in building maintenance, have IOSH Managing Safely level or an alternative and ideally a NEBOSH qualification.
  • are a creator, not a follower. Retirement living is a new and rapidly expanding sector of which we are setting the standard in central London. In this role, you’re not following in anyone’s footsteps, you’re creating footprints. As the Maintenance Manager this is your opportunity to be on our journey from the start.

A rewarding Role

  • Up to £60,000 a year starting salary, plus performance-related bonus
  • Annual Leave entitlement of 20 days plus Bank Holidays, increasing with your length of service.
  • Some of the other benefits that you will have access to include:
    • Enhanced employer pension contribution
    • Life assurance cover.
    • Annual private health assessment.
    • Season ticket loan scheme
    • Save with us - access a range of discounts and cashback from hundreds of high street retailers on every day (and special day) items.
