Description

We are recruiting for a Financial Controller at each of the following hotels:

  • London Marriott Hotel Regents Park
  • London Marriott Hotel Kensington
  • London Marriott Hotel Maida Vale

Are you an experienced finance professional looking to take the next step in your career within a leading international hotel brand? We are looking for a Financial Controller to join either one of our three London Marriott hotels’ Finance team.

As Financial Controller, you will lead the day-to-day Finance function at your hotel, working closely with the General Manager, Finance Director and hotel leadership team. You will provide financial guidance, ensure accurate reporting and help the hotel achieve its financial and commercial goals.

Please note these are three individual positions. This is not a Cluster or Multi-Property role. Each Financial Controller will be responsible for the Finance function of their individual hotel.

When applying, please clearly state which of the three hotels you would like to be considered for.

What is in it for you?

In addition to a competitive salary and discretionary bonus, you will also have access to a range of benefits, including:

  • Marriott Explore Discounts – Enjoy discounts on hotel stays and F&B across Marriott's global portfolio.
  • Free Meals on Duty
  • Pension Scheme – Participation in The People’s Pension.
  • Employee Assistance Programme – Free and confidential support for a range of personal and wellbeing challenges.
  • Career Development – Opportunities for career growth and internal opportunities within our managed portfolio.
  • Training & Development – Access to training programmes to support your professional development.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day Finance and Accounting function at your hotel.
  • Work closely with the General Manager and hotel leadership team, providing clear financial advice and support.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports, P&L statements, budgets and forecasts.
  • Take ownership of the hotel's annual budget and monthly forecasting process.
  • Analyse financial performance and help identify opportunities to improve profitability, control costs and increase productivity.
  • Ensure financial reports and P&L results are accurate and delivered on time.
  • Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and strong financial controls.
  • Support and manage internal, external and regulatory audits.
  • Ensure the hotel has appropriate financial controls in place to manage risks and protect its assets.
  • Work with operational managers to help them understand their financial performance and achieve their targets.
  • Lead, develop and support the Finance team, creating a positive environment where people can perform at their best.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is confident, commercially minded and able to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous hotel finance/accounting experience – this is essential.
  • Previous experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager would be highly desirable.
  • A full or part-qualified accounting qualification, relevant degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of P&L, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Strong Excel and computer skills; experience with Opera and/or MICROS would be an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • The ability to work closely with operational teams and influence business decisions.
  • A high level of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail.
