Description

We are looking for an experienced, proactive and organised Human Resources Officer to join our team at the London Marriott Hotel Regents Park.

Are you passionate about people, recruitment and creating a positive workplace culture? The HR Officer is a hands-on, generalist HR role covering recruitment, payroll, employee relations, training and development, compliance and employee engagement. Working closely with the Human Resources Manager and hotel leadership team, you will help attract, develop and retain great people while ensuring HR processes run smoothly and associates receive excellent support.

What is in it for you?

In addition to a competitive salary and opportunities to develop your career, you will have access to a range of benefits, including:
Marriott Explore Discounts – Enjoy discounts on hotel stays and F&B across Marriott's global portfolio.
Free Meals on Duty
Pension Scheme – Participation in The People’s Pension.
Employee Assistance Programme – Free and confidential support for a range of personal and wellbeing challenges.
Career Development – Opportunities for career growth and internal opportunities within our managed portfolio.
Training & Development – Access to training programmes to support your professional development.

What will you be doing?

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, including advertising vacancies, screening applications, arranging interviews, conducting reference checks and issuing contracts.
  • Coordinate new starter inductions and ensure right-to-work checks and employment records are completed accurately.
  • Provide first-line HR advice to managers and associates on employee relations matters.
  • Support disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management processes.
  • Take ownership of monthly payroll preparation alongside the Human Resources Manager, ensuring accurate information and timely submissions.
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with GDPR requirements.
  • Coordinate mandatory training and development programmes, monitor completion rates and support career development initiatives.
  • Monitor visa expiry dates and employment eligibility records, and support HR audits and compliance reviews.
  • Coordinate employee engagement, recognition and wellbeing initiatives, including surveys and hotel-wide activities.
  • Produce HR and payroll reports to support management decisions.
  • Build strong relationships across hotel departments and promote a positive, inclusive and supportive working environment.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and confident in managing a broad range of HR responsibilities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Ideally, you will have:
  • Proven experience as an HR Officer or in an equivalent HR generalist role.
  • Strong experience in end-to-end recruitment and onboarding.
  • Good payroll administration experience, including data preparation, validation and reconciliation.
  • Experience supporting employee relations, disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management processes.
  • A working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Previous hotel or hospitality experience would be an advantage.
  • A CIPD qualification or active CIPD membership would be desirable.
