ROOP is a progressive Indian restaurant in the West Loop. Featuring an upscale dining experience with ala carte menus and a 6 and 8 course tasting menu. 

We are looking for someone that can be cross-trained and do some serving and some bartending shifts throughout the week. 

The server is responsible for representing ROOP with the highest level of service and professionalism while selling and serving an upscale dining experience.

Our servers work closely with the rest of the staff, both FOH and BOH, to ensure product quality and a thorough understanding of our food and beverage menus, along with inspiration and history in order to tell our story to our guests.   • 3+ years of experience in a high-volume, full-service, elevated dining restaurant setting
  • Possess extensive food and beverage knowledge, as well as a strong awareness of Chicago’s restaurant scene, with a constant thirst to grow and learn
  • Knowledge of Wine Service and pairings
  • Able to use Toast POS system to process orders and bill.
  • Able to interact with guests in a friendly, efficient and professional manner.
  • Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the station, the tables and restaurant before, during and at the conclusion of the shift worked.
  • Strong team player that helps their colleagues and brings up issues immediately to management to ensure every guest leaves with a positive experience. 
  • Must have the ability to work a variety of hours, days, and shifts, including weekends and brunches/lunches
  • Must have the ability to stand and walk at a steady pace for periods of up to 8 hours or more
  • Must have State of Illinois Basset Certification/Food Handlers Certification
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and legally able to serve alcohol in the city of Chicago
  • Must have Saturday and Sunday lunch availability
