Freedom Enterprises operates 68 Scooter’s Coffee franchise locations across Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa. We are committed to amazing people, amazing drinks, amazingly fast. But our passion for excellence extends beyond the brew—it’s about creating an amazing experience for our customers, our vendors, and our dedicated team members.
Join us in embracing the art of Scooter’s Coffee culture, one cup at a time.
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on, positive, and resourceful Facilities Manager to oversee all maintenance operations, new store openings, remodels, and renovation projects across our growing network of Scooter’s Coffee locations.
You’ll make sure every store is safe, functional, and aligned with brand and franchise standards—all while leading with positivity and purpose. This role is based in the Overland Park / Kansas City area and involves travel across Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa, with some overnight trips.
What You’ll Do
Lead and support the maintenance team to ensure timely, high-quality repairs and upkeep across all stores.
Manage new store openings, remodels, and renovation projects from planning through completion.
Partner with vendors for equipment installation, repair, and replacement—negotiating contracts and pricing for the best results.
Visit stores regularly to assess conditions, prioritize projects, and ensure franchise-required updates are completed.
Oversee ongoing compliance with franchise renewal standards (equipment, IT networking, furniture, and fixtures).
Work directly with the Owner on large-scale facility initiatives while independently handling day-to-day decisions.
Collaborate closely with the VP of Operations and store managers to address maintenance needs and minimize disruptions.
Develop and manage budgets for maintenance and capital projects—balancing quality, speed, and cost.
Provide strong, positive leadership to the maintenance team through clear expectations, coaching, and accountability.
Support health and safety compliance across all stores to maintain safe, efficient operations.
Keep projects and vendor documentation well-organized and up to date.
What You Bring
5+ years of experience in facilities management, construction, or maintenance supervision (multi-unit or retail preferred).
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and hold teams accountable.
Excellent organization and multitasking abilities—you thrive on juggling multiple projects at once.
Experience managing vendors, negotiating contracts, and overseeing budgets.
Positive, proactive problem solver who takes initiative and follows through.
Familiarity with health and safety standards (preferred).
Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the region, with occasional overnight trips.
Experience in franchise or hospitality operations is a plus.
Who You Are
Positive, approachable, and team-oriented leader.
Resourceful, strategic thinker who isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves.
Organized, dependable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Someone who takes pride in creating spaces that help people do their best work.
