JOB SUMMARY

As a Manager in Sales, you will be responsible for creating exceptional experiences for our guests. Your tasks as a Sales Manager will include but not be limited to:

Product Knowledge

  • Previous pro-active and/or reactive involvement of working within a Groups and MICE team with experience of UK 3RD party agencies
  • Have full knowledge of the bedroom product, meetings and event spaces and food and beverage products offered in the hotel.
  • Keeping up to date with competitors’ products and services.
  • Implement and maintain sales and other applicable PPHG Management Systems fully complying with PPHG standards.

Performance & Quality Assurance

  • Assist in converting enquiries directly with both clients and working closely with the Account Directors and Sales Managers in order to achieve this.
  • Working closely with the Groups Executive and Groups Service team handing over group contracts to the planning team.
  • Provide the client with prompt and accurate responses to queries at all stages of the guest journey; from initial enquiry, planning, Group being in-house and post Group follow up.
  • Actively consult with your client in terms of their MICE and Group plans and make suggestions to enhance their stay, ensuring highest quality service.
  • Actively participate in Process Improvement programmes through regular review of processes, procedures and policies.
  • Ensure Group and MICE updates are prepared for Weekly pipeline meetings.
  • Maintain a prompt and accurate follow up- trace system for all enquiries that come in.
  • Actively participate in hotel, departmental and 1:2:1 meetings.
  • Strive to achieve department budgeted & forecasted levels for overall hotel budget following revenue strategy guidelines.
  • Prospect and establish good working relations with an expanding base of accounts in your specific segment.
  • Create and maintain a good working relationship with the Sales, Marketing, Reservations and Events teams. 
  • Promote and encourage proper communication to all departments to maximise utilisation of available resources.
  • Communicate the history of the event, client concerns and expectations of the client to all departments, Event Operations in particular

Cost Containment/Profit Enhancement

  • Prepare Action Plans for your market segments and co-ordinate an effective Accounts Maintenance programme, on a quarterly basis in order to focus on client needs and maximise sales efforts to minimise gap periods.
  • Use every opportunity to upsell all hotel facilities in order to enhance profit and improve delegate experience
  • Be able to interpret financial KPIs
  • Conduct post event follow up calls to gain client feedback to maintain account retention and repeat business
  • Participate in telesales activities to drive new and lapsed business
  • Communicate any new sales leads to the relevant department Associate

Marketing, Sales, Advertising and Promotions

  • Assist in the promotion of Group and MICE offers at every opportunity
  • Organise and participate in client entertaining and familiarisation trips

Business and Strategy Planning

  • Able to assist in executing strategic plans for the business unit in the hotel.
  • Able to assist executing annual business plans, sales plan and budgets.
  • Keep abreast with global and local industry trends.
  • Able to prepare short- and long-term strategies for your market segments to rectify areas that are not meeting business objectives.

Human Capital & Development

  • Ensure that the department standards are met and that all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Receive coaching and training from the Director of Sales and Sales Managers to deliver the service and product standards of the Sales Department and the Hotel.
  • Ability to work in a multi-functional environment, work as part of a team and be self-directed.
  • Ability to make individual decisions that benefit the business.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.
