About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Groups & Events Sales Manager to manage group and event enquiries across our London Cluster Hotels. The successful candidate will lead enquiries from initial contact through to contract signature and receipt of the first deposit, delivering an exceptional client experience while maximising conversion, revenue and profitability. Working closely with internal stakeholders, the role will ensure accurate sales administration, effective team coordination and a seamless handover to the on-site Planning team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage group and event enquiries from initial enquiry through to signed contract and receipt of the first deposit, ensuring a professional and customer-focused sales process.
  2. Qualify client requirements and prepare tailored proposals, quotations and contracts in line with approved commercial guidelines.
  3. Negotiate rates, packages and contractual terms to maximise revenue, conversion and profitability.
  4. Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact throughout the sales cycle.
  5. Conduct hotel showrounds and site inspections, showcasing accommodation, meeting facilities and event spaces.
  6. Identify and secure upselling opportunities across bedrooms, meeting spaces, food and beverage packages, and other hotel services.
  7. Ensure accurate management of enquiries, bookings, contracts and client records within MARS and other internal systems.
  8. Support the Head of Groups & Events Sales with departmental coordination, reporting, forecasting and business performance analysis.
  9. Provide guidance, coaching and day-to-day support to team members, while acting as deputy in the Head of Department’s absence.
  10. Collaborate with Finance, Credit Control and operational teams to ensure deposits, contractual requirements and handovers are completed accurately and efficiently.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in groups, events, hotel sales or hospitality sales, with a strong track record of converting enquiries into revenue.
  • Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation skills and the ability to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Strong client relationship management and customer service skills, with the ability to build lasting partnerships.
  • Experience preparing proposals, contracts, forecasts and sales reports with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting, coaching or leading team members, with the ability to provide guidance and deputise for senior management when required.
  • Good knowledge of hotel sales systems, CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proactive, results-driven approach with a commitment to delivering outstanding client service and achieving business objectives
