Description

Reservation Specialist - Bedruthan and Scarlet Hotel
Permanent contract | Full-time, 40 hours per week | £24,960 per annum

Warm, organised and a natural people person? If you love creating brilliant experiences and helping people find exactly what they’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you.

As a Reservationist, you’ll be part of our friendly Central Reservations team, helping guests plan their stays at Scarlet and Bedruthan. Based in beautiful Mawgan Porth, you’ll be one of the first people our guests speak to — making every conversation feel welcoming, personal and helpful.

You’ll take the time to understand what each guest is looking for, share your knowledge of our hotels and confidently recommend the experiences, treatments and services that will make their stay extra special. You’ll also have the opportunity to earn an additional 10% sales bonus, paid quarterly, alongside a monthly share of tips.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 40 hours across 5 days per week. Our reservations team works Monday to Sunday, with 8.5-hour shifts between 8am and 6.30pm, so weekend availability is important. We’re also happy to hear from you if part-time hours would suit you better.

Please note, this role is based on site in Mawgan Porth and we are unable to offer remote working.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys talking to people and takes pride in giving great service. You’ll be:

  • Warm, positive and friendly, with a natural ability to build genuine relationships

  • Organised and able to keep on top of a busy workload

  • A confident communicator, with excellent spoken and written English

  • Comfortable using computers and willing to learn our booking systems

  • Passionate about customer service and sales

  • Motivated by achieving targets and contributing to the success of the wider team

  • A great listener who takes the time to understand what guests really want

  • A quick thinker who is confident using their initiative

  • A good problem-solver who stays calm and helpful when things don’t quite go to plan

What you’ll be doing

Every day will be about helping our guests make the most of their time with us. You’ll:

  • Speak with guests by phone and email, responding to enquiries quickly, warmly and efficiently

  • Get to know what each guest is looking for and recommend the right hotel, experience or service for them

  • Confidently showcase and upsell our hotel products and services

  • Work towards sales targets and help our hotels achieve their budgeted revenue

  • Accurately complete bookings and administration, ensuring all details are correct and clearly communicated

  • Provide friendly, knowledgeable and professional service from the first enquiry through to booking

  • Work closely with other hotel departments to make sure our guests receive a seamless experience

  • Support your colleagues and celebrate each other’s successes along the way

Don’t worry if you don’t tick every box. If you’re enthusiastic about the role, enjoy working with people and have many of the skills we’re looking for, we’d still love to hear from you. We can teach you our systems and our way of doing things — what matters most is your attitude and your approach to our guests.

What we offer

As a family-owned, independent Cornish business, our people are at the heart of what we do. We want our hotels to be welcoming, supportive and rewarding places to work, and offer a range of benefits and perks including:

  • £24,960 per annum

  • Monthly share of tips

  • 10% sales bonus, paid quarterly

  • Permanent contract with 28 days’ holiday per year, increasing to 29 days after one year

  • A people-centric working environment

  • Learning and internal career progression opportunities

  • Uniform supplied

  • Free parking

  • 50% discount on food whilst on shift

  • Long service scheme — enjoy a free stay at Bedruthan after your first year

  • Local partnership discounts, including discounted gym membership
