We are seeking an experienced Events Sales Manager to play a pivotal role in the pre-opening and launch of Sofitel Dublin Airport Hotel—a luxury flagship property managed by the award-winning Arora Group in partnership with Accor’s Sofitel brand.

Directly connected to Terminal 2, this landmark hotel will redefine the guest experience at one of Europe’s busiest international gateways and will feature:

  • 412 elegant guestrooms
  • Extensive meetings and events facilities
  • A spectacular rooftop bar with panoramic views across Dublin and the airport

A bit about what you will do...  

The Event Sales Manager supports the Director of Sales and Marketing and Sales Manager in driving the Meetings and Events sales function at Sofitel Dublin Airport. The role combines proactive business development with the effective conversion and delivery of reactive enquiries, ensuring every client journey is handled with pace, commercial confidence, attention to detail and a luxury service mindset.

Working closely with Revenue, Reservations and Operations, the Event Sales Manager develops the M&E Sales team, grows repeat business, maximises every revenue opportunity and supports a seamless journey from first enquiry through to event departure.

  • Drive the successful pre-opening launch of the Meetings & Events function, including pipeline development, account acquisition, sales processes and team training.
  • Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across corporate, agency, association, incentive, group and social event markets.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of key M&E accounts, including corporates, event agencies, DMCs, PCOs, TMCs and industry associations.
  • Create and execute proactive sales plans, client meetings, networking activities, presentations and site inspections to generate revenue growth.
  • Lead the reactive sales process, ensuring all enquiries are responded to quickly, professionally and converted into confirmed business.
  • Develop compelling proposals and negotiate contracts that maximise revenue while delivering outstanding client experiences.
  • Monitor sales pipelines, conversion rates, forecasts and market trends, implementing strategies to improve performance and market share.
  • Lead, coach and develop the M&E Sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, responsiveness and commercial success.
  • Partner closely with Revenue, Reservations, Operations, Food & Beverage and Marketing teams to ensure seamless event planning and delivery.
  • Act as a key contact for clients throughout the sales journey, ensuring exceptional service from enquiry through to event completion.
  • Drive social event business, including weddings, private dining, celebrations, Christmas parties and seasonal events.
  • Develop repeat business opportunities through strong client relationships, post-event follow-up and account management.
  • Contribute to annual budgets, forecasts and commercial strategies to achieve revenue and profit targets.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activity reporting and pipeline management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Stay informed on competitor activity and market trends, identifying opportunities to strengthen the hotel's position within the M&E market.

More about you...  

  • Proven Meetings and Events sales experience in a four or five-star hotel, venue, agency or comparable hospitality environment.
  • Demonstrable success in proactive business development, account management and reactive enquiry conversion.
  • Previous experience leading, coaching or supervising a sales team is highly desirable.
  • Strong commercial judgement, negotiation skills and the ability to balance client needs with profitability.
  • Exceptional organisation, attention to detail and confidence managing multiple enquiries and events simultaneously.
  • A natural relationship builder with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A visible, hands-on leader who works effectively with clients and operational teams.
  • Professional, polished and self-motivated, with a genuine passion for luxury hospitality and memorable guest experiences.
  • Experience using CRM, M&E and sales systems such as Delphi, Cvent or equivalent is desirable.
  • Flexibility to attend client events, site inspections and key hotel functions outside standard office hours when required.
