Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Sales to lead the commercial sales strategy for IXORA Hotel and Spa. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue across all market segments (corporate, MICE, leisure, and group bookings), building strong client relationships, and leading the on-property sales team to exceed targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy & Planning
    • Develop and execute the hotel's annual sales and commercial plan aligned with business goals and brand standards.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across key segments including corporate, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), travel trade, and leisure.
    • Analyse competitor activity, market trends, and pricing strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Team Leadership
    • Manage, motivate, and mentor the sales team to achieve individual and collective targets.
    • Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and development of sales staff.
    • Lead weekly sales meetings and reporting sessions.
  • Client & Partner Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, agents, DMCs, and corporate accounts.
    • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, exhibitions, and familiarisation trips.
    • Negotiate contracts and rate agreements with key partners.
  • Collaboration & Reporting
    • Work closely with Revenue, Marketing, and Front Office teams to ensure alignment in sales, pricing, and promotional strategies.
    • Report regularly on sales performance, forecasts, and ROI of sales activities to senior leadership.
    • Utilise CRM tools to manage accounts and monitor performance.
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience in a senior sales role within the hospitality sector
  • Solid understanding of UK and international markets, corporate travel, and the MICE segment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading a sales team and delivering against revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and data analysis capability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel CRM/PMS systems.
  • Flexibility to travel for client meetings, industry events, and occasional evening/weekend commitments.
Desirable Experience
  • Previous experience within a branded hotel group or independent property.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management processes.
