We are looking for an experience Stock Controller to come and join our team on a full time, fixed term contract from April until the end of July 2026.
Skills and
Experience Required
- Computer
literate, including excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word and
Excel) Understanding formulas to create stock control sheets.
- Excellent
numeracy and IT skills element
- Previous
experience in a similar role where required to prioritize and multi-task
various and competing demands
- A good
communicator with the ability to interface regularly with internal and
external personnel at all levels.
- Planning
and Organization with the ability to prioritise
- Experience
of retail and a stock control background
- Experience
of liaising with suppliers/ Freight Forwarders and 3PL (Third Party
Logistics) logistic companies is essential.
- Knowledge
of perpetual inventory stock counting / inventory accuracy checks.
- Minimise
overstocks and removal of obsolete / redundant stock to maximize
availability of working capital.
- Self
motivated and good team player.
- Office based.
- To work
independently with team to problem solve issues as they arise.
Responsibilities
- Be
responsible for organisation and replenishment of all packaging,
including; bags, hangers, etc.
- Execute
inventory control measures to ensure the company minimizes stock holding
and maximizes stock system and paperwork accuracy
- The
role carries responsibility for working with purchasing, goods inwards and
dispatch to ensure necessary functions are carried out correctly
- The
position carries management
responsibility of the Stock Control Assistant.
Inventory
Management
- Booking
in deliveries
- Receive
all deliveries into the stores / warehouses and checking that the stock
matches the invoice. Inform accounts of any discrepancies.
Also inform the merchandisers of any new stock arrivals.
- Process
relevant paperwork and other administrative tasks
- Liaise
with stock controller regarding deliveries, stock transfers, stock takes
& returns to the warehouse.
- Action
stock transfers IBT’s (inter branch transfers) .You will manage stock
transfers between store locations while updating the internal computerised
system with stock transfers as required. Raise all necessary paperwork.
Stock Takes
- Carry
out a full stock takes of all merchandise received in the stores in
addition to the ‘mini’ stock takes of each department.
- Ensure
that any discrepancies are found as a result of any of these stock takes,
an investigation to how this occurred should be conducted.
- Findings
from the stock takes and any investigation carried out must be presented
to the stock controller.
- Make
adjustments to the relevant systems following the stock takes.
Faulty Stock
- Liaise
with relevant suppliers as well as completing and keeping a paper trail of
the appropriate forms regarding faulty stock and repairs. All
repairs must be processed in accordance with the Company’s policy.
