As the first point of contact for guests, you will create a welcoming atmosphere, manage reservations, and ensure a smooth flow of service throughout the dining experience.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a warm and professional demeanour, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to remain calm under pressure, especially during busy periods. You should have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and be flexible to take on various roles and responsibilities as required.

Main Responsibilities

As a Host/Hostess, your primarily duties will include greeting guests warmly, assisting with coats in the cloakroom, and escorting guests to their tables. You'll manage reservations, including phone calls, online bookings, and maintaining an organized system, while also overseeing waitlists and providing wait times during busy periods. Communication with the waitstaff, managers, and kitchen is key to ensuring smooth seating and service.

You will accommodate guest preferences where possible, ensure tables are clean and ready for turnover, and monitor the dining area for organization. You'll also thank guests as they leave, maintaining a positive experience. Additionally, you'll keep the reception area clean and complete daily checklists.

Occasionally, you may assist with payment processing and have a basic understanding of the Tevalis point-of-sale system. During busy shifts, you'll support the team with extra tasks and may assist with managing a floor section when needed.
