For more than 30 years, the Distefano family has grown San Carlo from a single award-winning restaurant into a celebrated, two generation group of award winning restaurants.

Today, our group proudly operates 33 award-winning authentic Italian restaurants throughout the UK and internationally. We are excited about our thriving empire, which includes ambitious plans for global expansion including our much anticipated opening in Miami early in 2026!

The role:

Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operation of the UK San Carlo Restaurant group, delivering accurate reporting, rigorous financial control, insightful analysis, and timely support for strategic decision making. This senior role is key to keeping San Carlo’s UK sites financially healthy and helping us develop future growth

Skills Required:

• ACCA / CIMA qualified
• Advanced level Excel and Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage own workload and meet tight deadlines
• Proactive approach to work
• Sound verbal and written communicator
• Proven leader and developer of finance teams
• Previous experience in hospitality finance, multi-site is mandatory

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Responsible for the day to day running of the Finance team, including payroll.
• Assessing and improving financial processes and controls within the finance team and also within the restaurants.
• Management of financial reporting, policies and controls.
• Work on improving and streamlining processes within the department as and where necessary.
• Monitor aged debtors/creditors.
• Review and monitor balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare/check and file VAT returns.
• Assist with preparing yearly budgets and ongoing forecasts.
• Main lead of the external audit process
• Production of consolidated monthly management accounts for the group for review by the CFO.
