Description

The mission of LDV Hospitality is to bring la dolce vita, 'the good life' to all of our guests by providing authentic and charming hospitality experiences through our collection of extraordinary people and hospitality concepts.

The Pastry Cook we are seeking for will be responsible for preparing quality pastry items such as breakfast items, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, simple syrups, amenities, displays/centerpieces and special request items.

Essential Duties:
- Set up workstation with required mise en place, tools, equipment and supplies according to standards
- Check production schedule and pars and establish priority items for the day
- Complete position prep list, other food preparation, per direction of Chef on Duty
- Maintain food orders, work orders
- Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to department standards in a time efficient manner
- Inform Chef on Duty of any sub-par product prior to the start of service
- Restock items that were depleted during the shift
- Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and hotel requirements and procedures
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely
- Inform Chef on Duty of any product, materials or equipment needs
- Inspect the cleanliness and organization of the line and workstations; rectify any deficiencies
- Inspect the cleanliness and working condition of all tools, equipment and supplies, ensuring everything complies with standards
- Inform Chef on Duty immediately of any DOH or OSHA/workplace safety violations
- Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department
- Be a team player—support and assist your fellow team members whenever possible
- Follow and adhere to all standards set forth by the Board of Health
- Performs other related activities as assigned by management

Qualifications:
- Deliver timely and courteous service to LDV Hospitality guests in adherence to our company policies and procedures
- Ability to speak, understand, read and write in English
- Must have basic math skills
- Maintain friendly, helpful and positive attitude at all times
- Ability to have an outgoing, friendly disposition for guest relations
- Adherence to company, state, and county sanitation standards
- Strict adherence to posted schedule and clock in/out at times
- Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal direction
- Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
- Adherence to company uniform and grooming policies
- Perform all other duties assigned by the management
- Adhere to all HR policies and procedures

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not required

Physical/Special Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds often
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand and perform extensive walking for 8-10 hours a day
- Mobility and manual dexterity appropriate to staff the Pastry Cook position

Work Environment:
- Able to withstand fluctuations in temperature within work environment, from high heat to below freezing
- Ability to perform essential job functions under pressure, maintain professionalism when working under stress
