Description

Role: Groundskeeper  

Location: Seaham Hall, County Durham

Salary: £11.00 per hour plus share of service charge 

Hours: 0 - 40 hours, shift pattern will have starts from 7am to 8am with finishes as late as 5pm including weekends & bank holidays. 

Relationships: General Manager, Facilities Manager, Maintenance Manager, The Team


We are looking to expand our team grounds team and are searching for the right person to fit in with our current team in the role of Groundskeeper, taking care of the grounds of Seaham Hall which span over 37acres, previous experience in a similar role is essential.

Main Duties

  •  Maintain all areas of defect and deterioration with regards to roads, signs and gardens
  • To identify areas of improvement within the hotel and spa grounds
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Manager, within an agreed budget, for supporting the sufficient running of the hotel and spa, striving to improve quality standards, efficiency and profitability where possible
  • Maintain all areas of grounds including public rights of way
  • To have a reactive approach in relation to defective roads, signs, trees and grounds
  • Hedge Cutting
  • Weed Spraying
  • Grass Cutting
  • Strimming
  • Litter picking
  • To abide by all data sheets in relation to the use of chemicals associated with grounds maintenance
  • To be flexible in your approach to work, working in association with the Maintenance Team to carry our any other reasonable duties required by the Maintenance Manager and to work additional hours if required
  • Ensure all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to and report any issues or defects to the Maintenance Manager
