Role:  Painter  
Location: Seaham Hall, County Durham

Salary: £12 per hour plus share of service charge 
Hours: 0- 40 hours a week working between 8am and 4.30pm may include working alternative weekends & bank holidays.
Relationships: General Manager, Facilities Manager, Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Team

 

We are expanding our team at Seaham Hall and are seeking to appoint a Painter.

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Painter to join our team. If you have a keen eye for detail, a passion for transforming spaces, and experience in painting, we’d love to hear from you!

 Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer.
  • Mix and match paint colours to achieve desired shades.
  • Apply paint, stain, or coatings to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Cover and protect furniture, flooring, and other items during projects.
  • Inspect and repair minor wall damage before painting.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and project specifications.
  • Maintain all interior and exterior paintwork ensuring high standards are met at all times
  • To have a reactive approach in relation to defective paintwork
  • To abide by all data sheets in relation to the use of chemicals associated with painting
  • To be flexible in your approach to work, working in association with the Maintenance Team to carry our any other reasonable duties required by the Maintenance Manager and to work additional hours if required
  • Ensure all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to and report any issues or defects to the Facilities Manager.

 

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Painter or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to mix paints and use various painting methods (brush, roller, spray).
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work on ladders or scaffolding.
  • Excellent time management skills to complete projects on schedule.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the industry.
