Job description

Role: Spa Receptionist   

Location: Seaham Hall, County Durham

Resort information: https://www.seaham-hall.co.uk/

Salary: £10.50 per hour plus a share of service charge 

Hours: 40 hours, 5 days out of 7, including weekends & bank holidays. Earliest start time is 6am, latest finish is 10.30pm, shifts are 8.5hours per day

Relationships: General Manager, Spa Team, Reception Team


Recruitment day will be held on 7th September, from 3pm to 7pm.


Seaham Hall is the home to five red star personable luxury situated on the Durham Heritage coastline. Steeped in history and heritage we offer a home away from home experience for all to adore. Seaham Hall boasts twenty-one individually styled suites set in thirty-seven acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and is home to the five-luxury bubble Serenity Spa. The Serenity Spa offers the very best in immersive facilities and wellness treatments designed to balance and restore the senses. With two onsite dining locations, guests can choose from The Dining Room with dishes inspired by the rugged North Sea and Durham countryside or The Ozone restaurant nestled in the vibrant Serenity Spa drawing on Pan-Asian influences.

We are seeking to appoint a Spa Receptionist to join our vibrant team in providing quality customer service and support for our guests using the Serenity Spa.

 

Objective

As a Spa Receptionist you are responsible for providing an exceptional level of customer care and attention to all guests.  You must adhere to assisting, maintaining and improving all aspects of the spa operations under the guidance of the Spa Management Team and make a valuable contribution to creating a special environment with immense attention to detail for all guests.  You must contribute to building and promoting the business at all opportunities whilst maintaining a professional and customer focused attitude at all times. You will have a vital responsibility to assist and communicate effectively with other core members of the spa team whilst maintaining a strong team ethic throughout. 

 

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • To meet and exceed guest’s expectations on arrival, departure and throughout their spa experience.
  • Maintain a warm, friendly manner and effectively assist guests on a daily basis.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and personability in line with brand values
  • Enhancing the ‘guest experience’ on a daily basis.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all spa clients and personnel therefore a vital role in reflecting the five star standard of excellence.
  • To complete administration tasks ensuring a high level of accuracy and competence.
  • To operate the all spa software effectively updating guest profiles and securing bookings.
  • To manage daily bookings maximising treatments appointments ensuring clients requests are appropriately accommodated.
  • Ensure that all guests have completed their relevant documentation, checking them in and out of the spa efficiently.
  • Attending any meetings or training courses as and when required.
  • Processing payments correctly ensuring correct procedures are followed and effectively communicated with the guest at all times.
  • To be respectful of guests confidentiality and privacy maintaining a high level of professional etiquette.
  • Preparing guest information and processes for the following day efficiently executing a high level of organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Promoting spa offers and events at all opportunities to meet and exceed department goals.
  • To be knowledgeable about all spa treatments, promotions, spa packages and any contraindications that can affect a guest’s treatment.
  • To liaise with maintenance and housekeeping departments in respect of out of order services etc.
  • To liaise with members of the reservations team when carrying out reservation checks on a day to day basis.
  • To assist team members in different departments as and when necessary to ensure the smooth running of the spa operation
  • Effectively liaising with hotel reception ensuring all room account charges are posted successfully.
  • Carrying out elaborate guest tours.
  • Ensuring all operational standards are met and exceeded on a daily basis.
  • To feedback to the spa management team as and when required
  • To ensure the spa reception area is clean, tidy and well maintained at all times
  • To ensure necessary checklists and tasks are completed daily.
  • Maintain uniform and grooming standards as outlined in the staff handbook
  • Adhering to Company Standard Operating Procedures and Health and Safety Policy.

 

 

Key Competencies

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns and high punctuality.
  • Computer literate and a good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft systems
  • A good team ethic throughout the working environment
  • Possess a high standard of interpersonal and organisational skills
  • A high standard of personal appearance and presentation is essential at all times, reflecting the brand.
