Role: Fitness Instructor

 

Location: Seaham Hall, County Durham

Salary: £22,000 per annum plus share of service charge

 

Hours: 6am – 10pm, 5 days out of 7 including weekends/bank holidays as per contract

 

Relationships: General Manager, Spa Manager, Assistant Spa Manager, Spa Team

With two onside dining locations, guests can choose from The Dining Room with dishes inspired by the rugged North Sea and Durham countryside or The Ozone restaurant nestled in the vibrant Serenity Spa drawing on Pan-Asian influences.

We are looking to expand our team and are looking for a highly motivated individual with immense passion for fitness and wellbeing to join our team as Fitness Instructor.

 

Are you a team player, self driven, dedicated and committed to delivering the highest standard of wellbeing journey ensuring all guests and members receive accurate guidance and advice striving for best human health.  You will be creative in developing specific fitness programmes, ensuring completion of inductions, integrating an interactive fitness timetable and promoting challenges to encourage member engagement.  Accountable for the operational maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, ensuring good working practices in accordance with standing operating procedures.

The ideal candidate 

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • To promote membership community and membership longevity.
  • To deliver the highest standard of wellbeing journey ensuring all guests and members receive accurate guidance and advice striving for best human health.
  • To conduct fitness and wellbeing assessments to an excellent standard identifying guest goals and plan for the future.
  • To ensure the delivery of a range personal services including fitness inductions, development of guest programmes and programme reviews. 
  • Responsible for the coordination and delivery of studio timetable that encourages participants and promote member retention.
  • Follow up inactive or dormant members offering re-introduction to fitness area to restore confidence and encourage active lifestyle.
  • Management of Mywellness recording attendance statistics, uploading challenges and logging guest data in line with data protection regulations.
  • Retain an organised record of members movements, induction records, fitness plans and PT sessions.
  • Enforce best practices with members and guests in line with company expectation, terms and conditions and spa rules and regulations.
  • Ensure operational and motivational presence across the fitness operation offering high level of supervision and expertise available to members and guests.
  • Undertake Spa Duty Management shifts as and when required.
  • Suitable refreshments, towelling and sanitation available for all active members and guests.
  • Proactive approach in gaining and acting on member and guest feedback in a genuine and committed way to ensure high level of member value.
  • In collaboration with membership advisor manage and communicate marketing and social events calendar across fitness and wellbeing operation.
  • Assist with membership appointments, tours and potential leads.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Spa and Membership software. 
  • To be involved in external activities and events to promote health, wellbeing and Spa
  • Understand local area and assessment of key competitors on a regular basis.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of fitness, leisure and wellbeing industry.
  • Assist FOH team during peak periods, including knowledge of guest journey and upkeep of change area’s and public areas.
