Café Host – Aparthotel & Leisure | SeaSpace, Cornwall

SeaSpace is Cornwall’s first coastal aparthotel, blending the freedom and flexibility of independent living with the comforts of hotel style perks. Design led studios and apartments sit alongside an Art Deco pool, channelling vintage Miami vibes, a sun-soaked courtyard, and a vibrant coastal café, all situated on the edge of Newquay and overlooking the shoreline of Cornwall’s North Coast.

At SeaSpace, flexibility, style, and freedom are underpinned by a spirit and community that lives for the beach and everything it can be. With a neighbourhood energy at its heart, we are inviting everyone in to make coastal living their own for an hour, a day, a week, or more.

We are matching real SEA spirit with the SPACE, flex, and freedom to choose how you live it. That's SeaSpace.

Our Café Host role:

We’re looking for a Café Host with a spark and spirit that makes every day brighter.

Lattes and lazy lunches, smooth service and a sunny outlook, bustling mornings and calmer afternoons. That’s our SeaSpace café lifestyle – which you’ll embrace every day.

With barista skills, or a willingness to master the craft, you’ll love the precision, variety, and quality that makes exceptional coffee, and you’ll apply your creativity to every drink and plate that you deliver.

This is not just a job. It’s a chance to be part of a community. At SeaSpace, we’re a group of individuals who have each other’s backs. We're eager to step up, keen to make every interaction the best it can be and recognise that SeaSpace’s shared spirit is made by its people.

If bringing energy, care, and a love of service to every guest inspires you, and being part of our shared SEA spirit excites you, our Café Host role could help see your career soar.

Please note, this is a part-time position of 20 hours per week and is offered on a temporary basis from May - November.

As our Café Host you’ll be:

  • Welcoming guests with warmth, making them feel comfortable and looked after.
  • Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks with flair, including coffee, tea, and specialty beverages.
  • Taking and serving food orders, ensuring presentation and quality meet our high standards.
  • Maintaining smooth operation of your section, keeping areas tidy, stocked, and organised.
  • Supporting the café team during busy periods and stepping in to assist wherever needed.
  • Complying with all Health and Safety and food hygiene policies.
  • Participating in training to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Helping to create a positive and collaborative working environment for team.
  • Proactively supporting SeaSpace’s sustainability and B Corp initiatives in day-to-day operations.

The skills you’ll be sharing with us:

  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service (preferred)
  • A flexible attitude to working hours
  • Enthusiasm for engaging with guests and colleagues alike
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service, with barista experience preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication and people skills, making every guest feel valued
  • Ability to stay organised and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • A passion for learning and improving your craft
  • A genuine, friendly and professional approach always
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene standards and health and safety
  • Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible, adaptable, and calm under pressure, especially during busy café periods
