Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts (Day and Night shifts)

Make a Meaningful Difference in Mental Health Care
We’re looking for an experienced and compassionate Deputy Care Manager to support the delivery of high-quality patient transport services for individuals experiencing mental health crises. Based at Roseberry Park Hospital, you’ll work with a dedicated team to ensure patient safety, dignity, and professional standards are maintained throughout every transfer.
This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, healthcare experience, and a commitment to team development, clinical safety, and patient-focused care.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the Area Care Operations Manager in overseeing day-to-day transport operations
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of healthcare transport professionals
- Ensure the safe, respectful, and efficient transport of patients in line with clinical standards
- Monitor and enforce compliance with health & safety, safeguarding, and quality standards
- Act as a role model for professional conduct, communication, and values
- Manage rotas, shift planning, and on-call support as required
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of staff
- Conduct performance reviews and support team members through supervision and coaching
- Handle incidents, concerns, or escalations appropriately and professionally
- Coordinate with internal teams and external healthcare partners to ensure service continuity
- Oversee vehicle standards, equipment checks, and ensure readiness for deployment
- Assist with audits, quality assurance processes, and service development projects
- Deputise for the Area Care Operations Manager as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Full UK Manual Driving License (required)
- Enhanced DBS certificate within the last 3 years (preferred)
- Proven experience in a supervisory or deputy management role (preferably in healthcare or secure transport)
- At least 12 months' driving experience in a relevant setting
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, patient rights, and clinical best practices
- A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach
