Pay Rate: £13.54 p/h for days; £14.54p/h for nights and weekends; Blended rate of: £14.05 p/h. Annual salary starting from £30,798.60

We’re looking for an experienced and compassionate Deputy Care Manager to support the delivery of high-quality patient transport services for individuals experiencing mental health crises. Based at Roseberry Park Hospital, you’ll work with a dedicated team to ensure patient safety, dignity, and professional standards are maintained throughout every transfer.
This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, healthcare experience, and a commitment to team development, clinical safety, and patient-focused care.
What You’ll Be Doing
Support the Area Care Operations Manager in overseeing day-to-day transport operations
Lead, coach, and develop a team of healthcare transport professionals
Ensure the safe, respectful, and efficient transport of patients in line with clinical standards
Monitor and enforce compliance with health & safety, safeguarding, and quality standards
Act as a role model for professional conduct, communication, and values
Manage rotas, shift planning, and on-call support as required
Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of staff
Conduct performance reviews and support team members through supervision and coaching
Handle incidents, concerns, or escalations appropriately and professionally
Coordinate with internal teams and external healthcare partners to ensure service continuity
Oversee vehicle standards, equipment checks, and ensure readiness for deployment
Assist with audits, quality assurance processes, and service development projects
Deputise for the Area Care Operations Manager as needed
What We’re Looking For
Full UK Manual Driving License (required)
Enhanced DBS certificate within the last 3 years (preferred)
Proven experience in a supervisory or deputy management role (preferably in healthcare or secure transport)
At least 12 months' driving experience in a relevant setting
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, patient rights, and clinical best practices
A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach
