COMO Metropolitan London is a 144 bedroom property with 19 private residences situated in the Heart of Mayfair.
Role
Within the role
of Duty Security Officer, you are responsible for the effective management of
all aspects of the physical security of the hotel and the grounds, as well as
the protection of the hotel and its assets. The Duty Security Officer will be
responsible for the protection and safety of team members, guests and visitors.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for reporting any issues
encountered to the line Manager in a timely manner
- Respond to alarms and emergencies
- Provide a professional interface with
the public, ensuring that the necessary protections are in place for the restaurants/bars
and that the hotel's core business is properly and appropriately secured
against threats
- Act as a reporting body within the
hotel, providing the confidence that all matters likely to affect the hotel and
its assets will be reported in time for necessary action
- Support and assist Management in the
smooth running of the hotel, highlighting areas of concern, displaying an
integral but independent supporting role to Senior Management
- Be familiar with the in-house CCTV
system and ensure that you carry out proactive surveillance where necessary
- Maintain and check CCTV equipment
daily, including all cameras, liaising with CCTV engineers as necessary, to
ensure the system’s coverage is fully functional 24 hours a day
- Report and investigate incidents,
crime, vehicle accidents of note in the workplace. This will require report
writing, and you will be expected to investigate and gather evidence in support
of your submissions
- In the absence of the Security Manager,
to liaise with police, fire authority or other such bodies, should the
requirement arise. This should not preclude the overall responsibilities of the
Duty Security Officer.
- Ensure that access is securely
controlled to the hotel.
- Conduct random searches of staff bags
- All contractors and visitors will be
closely monitored, and the issue of contractor worker passes and identification
will be integral to ensuring a safe and secure environment
- Deal with all property found in the
hotel, maintaining and administering the Property Found Register
- Have a thorough working knowledge of,
and comply with the company’s procedures
- Ensure that the fire alarm system is
tested, maintained and fully operational, responding to all activations
- Undertake regular training including
that of first aid
- Undertake regular patrols that cover
the entire Hotel and Apartments
- Participate in department meetings to
be adequately updated on the latest
Essential Attributes
- A good understanding of fire alarm
systems
- Proactive in approach with self-driven
attitude
- Good spoken and written English
- Must be able to undertake training and
learn new things in a short period of time
- Must hold a valid SIA License
- Be
First Aid certified
- Microsoft
Office knowledge, especially using Excel
- Hold
a full UK driving license
- Previous
experience working in Security, in hotels
- Possess
a Health & Safety at Work Level 2 certificate or higher
- Fire
