ABOUT THE ROLE

The Safety & Security Manager ensures the safety of guests, staff, and hotel property through key responsibilities such as monitoring guest safety, patrolling the premises, and managing access to restricted areas. They manage operation of CCTV surveillance, respond swiftly to emergencies, assist with lost property, and support crowd control during events as well as book adequate coverage. Trained in first aid, fire safety, and conflict resolution. Coordinates with local authorities when necessary to maintain a secure environment for staff and guests. Carries out management training in health and safety, security, food safety and emergency procedures where necessary. Is familiar and ideally certified in Risk Assessments and keeps up with industry standards.

EXPECTATIONS

The Safety & Security Manager is expected to:

  • Always maintain a consistently professional demeanour.
  • Represent NoMad London positively in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Always adhere to company policies and procedures, including but not limited to Health & Safety policies, HR guidelines and compliance training.
  • Effectively manage workload and responsibilities with efficiency.
  • Foster clear and effective communication within the team, across departments and between both hotels and management.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills to guide and inspire the team.
  • Championing our company values and fostering a positive and collaborative approach across all departments.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Asist with training, operations, and incident management.
  • Ensure all H&S and standard procedures are delivered in timely manner to all team and all trainings are up to date.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The main responsibilities of the Safety & Security Manager are summarised as below, however the list is not exhaustive

  • Support and provide guidance, training and organization to your team members
  • Ensure all security positions are covered, and duties are carried out effectively
  • Monitor team performance, provide 1:1 feedback and conduct team meetings
  • Ensure completion and review of detailed reports for all incidents and accidents
  • Ensure team handles lost and found procedures and maintains accurate logs
  • Promote a calm, safe, and professional environment for guests and employees
  • Maintain clear communication with the Director of Rooms
  • Prepare shift schedules
  • Conduct regular training sessions on security procedures and emergency response,
  • Team Building & motivational exercises,
  • Maintain the highest level of presentation, visibility, and professionalism.
  • To act as role model, and to encourage the development of the security team to achieve outstanding performance, by giving feedback on a regular basis.
  • Contribute to a constant growth and development plan of the security department and the company,
  • Contribute to evolve and maintain satisfactory levels of H&S, Fire safety, Security and Business Continuity,
  • Support team members in handling difficult or disruptive situations.
