At St Ermin's Hotel, we believe hospitality starts with our people.

We're proud to be recognised as one of the Best Places to Work in Hospitality, a London Living Wage employer, and a Workplace Mental Health Charter employer. Our culture is built around three simple values: Fun, Love & Energy.

We're looking for an experienced Night Security Officer to provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment for guests, visitors and team members throughout the hotel during the night.

This is an opportunity to join a business where your ideas are valued, your development is supported, and your contribution genuinely makes a difference.

Why Join Us?
When you join St Ermin's, you're not just taking on a new role. You're becoming part of a team that cares deeply about delivering exceptional hospitality and creating a great place to work. We're proud to be ranked #1 Hotel in the UK, #2 in Europe and #6 in the World in Tripadvisor's Travellers' Choice Best of the Best Awards 2025. We're also recognised as one of Caterer's Top 11 Best Places to Work and are winners of the AA Award for Best Large Hotel Team of the Year 2026/2027. These achievements reflect the exceptional people, culture and guest experiences that make our hotel truly special.

What's in it for you?

  • Competitive salary plus service charge. The better we perform, the more you benefit.
  • Access to one of London's best staff dining facilities, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Private healthcare with 24/7 GP access for you and your household.
  • Financial wellbeing support and professional advice services.
  • Exclusive retail, leisure and restaurant discounts.
  • Marriott worldwide hotel discounts for you, your friends and family.
  • Ongoing opportunities to learn, grow and progress within a globally recognised hospitality brand.
  • A workplace where Fun, Love & Energy isn't a slogan. It's how we treat each other every day.

About the Role
As a Night Security Officer, you will be responsible for protecting hotel assets, monitoring security systems, conducting regular patrols and responding to incidents in a professional and courteous manner.
This role requires flexibility to support the Night Team across hotel operations, including assisting with guest requests, emergency procedures and maintaining the highest standards of safety, security and guest service. The position includes regular weekend working and a flexible approach to shift patterns. Security Officer must have a SIA licence.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Conduct regular patrols of all guest, public, back-of-house and external areas of the hotel.
  • Monitor CCTV, fire alarm panels, access control systems and other security equipment.
  • Ensure all entrances, exits and restricted areas remain secure at all times.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, disturbances, emergencies and guest concerns.
  • Investigate and accurately document incidents, accidents, losses or suspicious activity.
  • Control contractor, supplier and visitor access in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Support evacuation procedures and emergency responses in line with hotel policies.
  • Work closely with the Night Manager and Night Team to ensure smooth overnight hotel operations.
  • Assist with guest requests and enquiries during the night.
  • Support reception and switchboard operations when required.
  • Carry out fire, security and safety checks in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Act as an ambassador for St Ermin's Hotel, delivering a warm and professional welcome.
  • Maintain excellent communication with all hotel departments.
  • Take care of AED checks, alongside H&S regulation within the hotel.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a security role.
  • Knowledge of security procedures and emergency response.
  • SIA certification
  • Willingness to support the team! Working nights means being part of a small and supportive team where everyone pitches in. Whether that is helping a guest, delivering room service, or assisting a colleague, you'll need to be adaptable and ready to help where needed.
