Description

Are you looking for a long-term role where you can make a difference?

Do you live and breathe hospitality?

Do you understand the power happiness has to make a holiday, motivate a team and inspire change?

Right now, purpose counts. We know senior professionals are seeking it from their work and we understand why.

At Watergate Bay Hotel, our overriding purpose shapes our culture, principles and direction.

We believe happiness is simply made, that the little things add up, and that people need the time and space to be at their happiest.

We’re looking for someone to lead our senior team who believes that too, and wants to pursue their professional potential with us long term.

As Hotel Director you’ll be purpose-led, helping us create an approach and culture distinctive in the hospitality industry, as we achieve B Corp certification and create an employer brand that’s the envy of our sector.

You’ll have a heart in hospitality, a connection with the coast and the drive to be our happiness guardian and champion, holding overall responsibility for meeting our brand, people and operational objectives.

As a natural, strong, empathetic leader, you’ll bring authority, inspiration and motivation to your role, as you help us navigate our course towards our ambitious goals.

Do you have a magnetic personality, an infallible instinct, a desire to lay down roots, and a commitment to work that gets you noticed? Are you looking for a role that will recognise your talents and provide your future opportunities and career development somewhere you love?

We’d like to hear from you.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with the Group HR and executive team to implement a people plan which connects with our wider business’ people strategy
  • Build and lead the hotel senior operations team
  • Provide clear guidance and inspiration to all team members through regular communications
  • Use feedback and insight to drive innovation and enhancements
  • Provide leadership/mentorship coaching and performance management to all direct reports and ensure the company-wide tools are being delivered across all operational areas
  • Work with the Group executive team to deliver the development project pipeline which delivers growth and enhances the guest experience
  • Work with project management colleagues, to ensure on-budget and on-programme delivery of projects

What we offer:

  • A relaxed, professional place to work in a beautiful location right on the beach
  • Excellent career prospects in an expanding organisation
  • 50% discount on food and drink in all our restaurants
  • Discounted stays off peak, £30pp per night
  • Plenty of room for growth within the role – which will bring significant opportunity for the right candidate

What you offer:

  • Credibility in hospitality and a deep up-to-date knowledge of the sector
  • Front of house expertise, with a natural passion for F&B
  • Strong, instinctive and empathic leadership skills and the ability to foster change
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • A blend of creativity and process know-how, with an understanding of the mix needed to deliver
  • A belief in modern hospitality and a desire to innovate
  • A clear understanding of brand and its power and impact
