Description

We’re the Signet Collection — a lovingly curated family of hotels that prioritise character over conformity, warmth over formality, and soulful hospitality over cookie‑cutter corporate vibes. If you’ve visited any of our properties, you’ll know: we love beautiful spaces, brilliant people, and stories worth sharing over a very good glass of something crisp.

Now, we’re on the hunt for a Learning & Development Manager — someone who believes people are the heart of hospitality and knows that magic happens when teams feel supported, skilled, and inspired. Reporting to the HR Director, you are part of a dynamic duo in the people function, so it's key that working relationship to super strong.

Where is this role?

We currently have 4 properties (with more coming!) and a central office near Newbury (Newbury RG20 8NJ), so regular travel is part of the week to week, as you collaborate and coach across our collection. Ideally you will base yourself out of our office if you live within a commutable distance - but with regular travel to all properties needed, it allows some flexibility as to where your base is and how you work (Tuesday's is our all team office day by the way!).

What You’ll Be Doing:

You’ll be the spark that ignites growth across our hotels — championing learning, coaching brilliant people, and shaping the next generation of Signet superstars. Be prepared, we are on a growth journey- every week will feel full on and as part of the Central Support team, you'll need to muck in with all types of things that come up, as we all do! We're just about to embark on an exciting new LMS and comms project- so this will be the key focus for the first 6-12 months.

You'll be:

  • Implementing and managing our new Learning Management System, All Gravy, and everything that comes with it!
  • Scoping out training needs and mapping out succession plans (one's that key people can see easily!)
  • Building & delivering training that’s engaging, practical, and very, very Signet.
  • Crafting onboarding experiences so good, new starters wonder why every job doesn’t feel this welcoming.
  • Coaching rising stars and helping them grow into future leaders.
  • Partnering with GMs and HODs to keep standards high and spirits higher.
  • Managing our Graduate and Apprenticeship Programmes whilst keeping our external partnerships on point
  • Creating blended learning: digital, face‑to‑face, bite‑sized, long‑form, and everything in between.
  • Driving e‑learning and compliance training (yes, even the legally required stuff — but we promise to keep it as joyful as possible).
  • Coaching the team on the floor — because the best L&D pros know the magic happens on the floor, not just in a meeting room.

If it helps people grow, thrive, or feel more brilliant at what they do — it’s in your world.

You’ll Love This Role If…

  • You’re a hospitality geek with a soft spot for beautiful boutique hotels.
  • You get a kick out of helping people realise just how good they can be.
  • You can charm GMs, inspire new starters, and coach seasoned pros.
  • You’re a natural relationship‑builder with students, colleges, suppliers, and pretty much anyone who crosses your path.
  • You know how to translate business needs into training that actually works (and isn’t painfully boring!).
  • You’re creative and an expert with digital tools (including AI) and excited to bring fresh, flexible learning ideas to life.
  • You believe career paths shouldn’t be a mystery — and you’re ready to build clear ones for our teams.
What You Bring to Our Table:

  • A love for hospitality and the humans who make it happen.
  • Experience in L&D (preferably within hotels or Food and Beverage).
  • Background in successfully implementing and managing a quality LMS
  • Confidence designing training programmes — from technical to behavioural to leadership.
  • A coaching mindset: patient, curious, empowering.
  • A collaborative spirit — you play well with others.
  • Organisation skills sharper than a freshly polished steak knife.
  • A full UK driving License and your own vehicle (although use of our group Tesla's, if available, is also a perk to the role!)
  • The passion for travel and loving not always working from the same place!
