Petersham Nurseries Richmond are looking to recruit a ‘Site Support Assistant’ with Gardening Experience:

Position Purpose                     

Gardening:                                                                                                       

Onsite at Petersham Nurseries Richmond there are extensive cut-flower borders, containers with seasonal planting, specimen trees, climbers and numerous glasshouses.  The nurseries lie adjacent to Petersham House with extensive grounds belonging to the business owners which will also need maintaining. 

Working alongside the Horticulture/Site Gardening Team, at the direction of the Head Gardener and Head of Horticulture you will be required to have a broad knowledge of plants (ideally horticultural qualifications (preferably an RHS Level 2 Qualification or higher)) to maintain and horticulturally care for all planting and display. This role involves lifting, digging and other strenuous activity – the gardening role will cover approximately half your time.

Site Support:

Supporting the wider site will involve helping our distribution warehouse with weekly logistics and supporting the green teams in stock replenishment and customer deliveries, therefore a valid UK driving licence is essential – the support side of this role will cover the other half of your time.

Your working hours may include early starts, late finishes and weekends. A rota will be provided in advance so that you can plan your time.

 Preferred

·        RHS Level 2 (or equivalent)

·        Clean driving license and ability to drive a 3.5 tonne Luton van
