Petersham Nurseries Richmond are looking to recruit a Florist.
Position Purpose
As Site Florist you are responsible for the site floristry and upkeep of the entire site.
(5 days - including at least 1 weekend day): floristry for our restaurant, teahouse and private events, retail, and family requests.
Principal Accountabilities
· Site Floristry / Displays
· Ensuring the table displays and floristry standards within the nurseries are maintained to a high and healthy standard always - includes planning, styling, and ordering within department budgets.
· Support Director of Horticulture with one-off seasonal floristry installations, i.e., for Christmas/ Valentines in Restaurant/ Teahouse.
· Accountable for the ongoing care, maintenance, and upkeep of all the floristry and display elements across the entire nurseries.
· Complete daily floristry requests in line with restaurant, teahouse, retail/ green requirements.
· Ensure role is maintained on days off and make provisions/arrangements for cover when taking annual leave.
· Occasionally visiting suppliers and collecting plants/flowers for display and events when required (require petty cash for wholesalers).
· Offer stylistic guidance on seasonal planting for larger containers and displays within the nurseries, includes liaising with Director of Horticulture/ Head Gardener on plant purchases required to support the Site Gardener to carry out/ execute the planting up.
· Any other reasonable floristry and horticultural duty asked of you.
· Event Floristry/ Workshops.
· Host/ support hosting, floristry/ wreath making workshops throughout the year, including planning, ordering and set up of event.
· Working alongside the events team produce quotes for private events. Meeting with clientele, preparing proposals and mood boards
· Plan, order and execute private event floristry.
· Attend the weekly events meeting for events floristry requirements.
