Slate NY is a 16,000-square-foot, upscale "adult playground" and event venue in Chelsea, Manhattan, featuring a nightclub atmosphere, a 20-foot slide, and diverse games like bowling, ping-pong, and billiards. Located at 54 W 21st St, it hosts corporate events, private parties, and nightlife, offering a chef-driven menu and, notably, New York City's largest HD screen

Slate NY is searching for a customer-facing hospitality worker who takes and delivers beverage and food orders, relays requests to bar and kitchen staff, processes payments, maintains service areas and uses customer-service, memorization, teamwork and legal-compliance skills to ensure a positive dining or bar experience. Essential skills include, math, patience, physical stamina, memorization and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Customer Service: Greeting guests warmly, answering questions about the menu, making recommendations, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Order Taking & Delivery: Taking accurate drink (and sometimes light food) orders and delivering them efficiently.
  • Alcohol Service & Safety: Checking identification for age verification, monitoring for intoxication, and adhering to all local alcohol service laws.
  • Operations & Maintenance: Stocking service stations, cleaning tables and trays, and managing inventory.
  • Financial Transactions: Processing payments, using POS systems, and managing cash/credit card transactions.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience: Prior experience in a fast-paced food-service or bar environment is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong multitasking abilities, excellent communication, and proficiency in POS systems.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for long periods and carry heavy trays in crowded, dimly lit environments.
