What does your role bring to the table?

At Snooze, food matters!  The Senior Manager of Purchasing and Supply Chain plays a vital role in allowing Snooze to continue to be an industry leader within the restaurant environment. By utilizing our Snooze Approved food sourcing standards this individual will assist in making critical food and beverage supplier decisions that align with our companies core values in sustainability and quality.  By being a champion of eggs and bacon this indivudal will ensure smooth restaurant operations by leading the systems and procurement processes necessary to deliver a great Guest Experience.  The Senior Manager of Purchasing and Supply Chain will report directly to the Director of Purchasing and through their partnership they will drive critical key intiatives surrounding purchasing, sourcing, vendor relationships, restaurant management collaboration, and overall departmental functionality.  This role will hold vital the belief that our community at large is inclusive of the many supplier relationships that help us deliver an unrivaled breakfast experience.

The Position specifics!

Taking on the role of the Senior Purchasing Manager isn’t just about bacon and pancakes. The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Oversee and excute daily administrative tasks within the purchasing department, including but not limited to: managing out of stocks, inventory levels, special orders and freight across broadline distribution to minimize risk and identify opportunities.
  • Own and maintain contract management, renewals, monthly pricing audits and financial analysis of impacts.
  • Own monthly and quartly financial reporting to include price and market trends. 
  • Manage quality assurance issues and resolution with vendors.
  • Maintain HACCP files & vendor compliance.
  • Maintain “Snooze Approved” to include vetting of suppliers, spec sheets, ingredients statements and caloric impact.
  • Maintain inventory platform to include new item setup, vendor set ups, SUPC’s, and more.
  • Collaborate with the menu innovation and culinary team on all research and development, pilots, request of samples, SKU rationalization, LTO needs, availability of products, forecasting, costs and communication across all regions.
  • Coordinate, excute and implement department processes to include specifications, bid process, score carding, RFI’s and RFP’s. 
  • Support on all new restaurant opening needs in collaboration with training team and local management team. This includes new vendor set up, ordering information and order guides, distributor contact info, processes, and beginning inventory support.
  • Support restaurant operations through various operational enhancements and product inprovements.
  • Communicate weekly with Regional managers on projects and purchasing updates.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships, attending business reviews and assisting with integreation of sustainability and environmental awareness.
  • Establish raport with our Snoozer management teams and communicate directly with restaurant leadership regarding product specifications, quality concerns, and general purchasing improvements.
  • Collaborate with Director of Purchasing and Chief Financial Officer to meet all department goals.
  • Additional roles and responsiblities required to meet the company’s goals and priorities

Let’s talk prerequisites! (Education, credentials, and experience)

  • 5+ years of procurement contract management, sourcing, and supplier relationship management experience
  • 2+ years of contract negotiation experience (preferred)
  • 2+ years food & beverage/hospitality industry experience (preferred)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint and Teams
  • Strong MS Excel knowledge required to perform complex calculations, merge data from multiple tables/sources, and scrub data
  • Excellent Interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • Must have the stamina to work 45 to 55 hours per week
  • The travel required for this position is approximately 10% and you must be able to travel for up to 5 days at one time (air, car, bus. Train, and weekend travel all required)

Denver area base salary range: $100,000-$120,000 per year + annual bonus 

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Snooze salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Snooze’s total compensation package for employees.
