What does this role bring to the table?

 The Manager of Snoozer Relations and Compliance is the coach for all things Snoozer Relations, and the champion of Snooze’s safety and compliance programs. This role is responsible for providing direction, support, and recommendations for the resolution of critical and impactful Snoozer relations activities, while owning and driving all initiatives and programs that keep our Snoozers safe, and comply with local, state and federal law. You will provide consultation and coaching to restaurant leaders and Regional Managers in retention strategies, engagement, workplace investigations, conflict management, position eliminations, terminations, and concerns of Snoozer wellbeing. This role is responsible for leading our Super Snooze Safety Squad, partnering with our Director of People and Compliance to lead our annual compliance audits, quarterly compliance meetings, and maintaining our employee handbook, The Eggspectations of Excellence. Ultimately, this role is responsible for helping Snoozers be their best and creating the systems and tools that keep the business safe.

The Position Specifics!

Taking on the role of Manager of Snoozer Relations and Compliance isn’t just about bacon and pancakes. The responsibilities of this position include:

  •      Demonstrated ability to lead the Snoozer Relations function, including understanding company policies, culture, and values and using that information to make recommendations about the resolution of unique employment-related issues. 
  •      Collaborate with People Team leadership to lead the Snoozer Relations Strategy. 
  •      Support and coach managers on how to handle complex Snoozer Relations issues.
  •      Support and counsel Snoozer’s well-being concerns as they arise. 
  •      Lead internal investigations and fact finding in compliance with all federal and state laws, making recommendations based on the findings and taking appropriate action.
  •      Engage as a trusted advisor and subject matter authority who provides coaching on critical work-related concerns and issues.
  •      Trains and our leaders on Snoozer Relations processes and best practices. 
  •      Responsible for the Snoozer Relations Toolkit, a tool we use to ensure our leaders have the tools and reference guides to coach, discipline, and properly terminate Snoozers. 
  •      Maintains exemplary records of all investigations, Snoozer Relations cases, and associated paperwork. 
  •      Prepare and present specific reporting and data associated to Snoozer Relations incidents and provide direction on preventative measures of such incidents.
  •      Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  •      Applies this knowledge to support the business in retention, engagement, and Snoozer Relations strategies. 
  •      Has a strong understanding of general workplace compliance and employment laws including FLSA, ACA, FMLA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, wage and hour laws, labor rules, OSHA, Equal Pay Act, drug and alcohol, background checks and local/state laws within the regions we operate. 
  •      Has the ability to research and understand employment laws in all states in which Snooze decides to operate and new laws and legislative updates as they become available. 
  •      Twice annually updates the Eggspectations of Excellence and is responsible for ensuring all local, state and federal law is appropriately communicated. 
  •      Leads the Super Snooze Safety Squad (S-Quad) and owns reporting and data analytics associated.
  •      In partnership with our Director of People and Compliance, responsible for leading our quarterly compliance meetings and keeping our compliance tracker up to date at all times. 
  •      Owns the annual compliance audit process and People First meetings (our annual kick-off to the year where we review all things compliance with our restaurant leaders). 
  •      Collaborate with the team to achieve annual projects and OKRs.

  •      Experience owning, investigating, and tracking employee relations issues, ultimately partnering with the business to assess risk and provide guidance on coaching, discipline and/or terminations. 
  •      General knowledge and use of HRIS systems and processes.
  •      Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint. 
  •      Strong MS Excel knowledge required to perform complex calculations, merge data from multiple tables/sources, and scrub data.
  •      Ability to have fun, dance, and laugh under/during stressful situations (yes, seriously)

Let’s talk prerequisites! (Education, credentials, and experience)

  •      4+ years of Human Resources experience
  •      4+ years of experience investigating and managing employee relations required
  •      Experience extracting, analyzing, sharing, and presenting Human Resources data
  •      3+ years managing HR compliance programs and processes
  •      2+ years of experience in hospitality (or like field), Human Resources role preferred
  •      Human Resources Management Certification (HRCI or SHRM) preferred
  •      Multi-state compliance experience with California experience preferred

  •      Must have the stamina to work 45-55 hours per week
  •      Required travel of 5-10% and ability to travel up to 5 days at one time (air, bus, train and weekend travel required)

 The Nitty Gritty Details

Denver area base salary range: $80,000 -$100,000 per year

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Snooze salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Snooze’s total compensation package for employees.
