Now, we’re seeking a Pastry Chef with flair, precision, and passion to take our dessert offering to the next level. From elegant plated desserts to house-made breads and petits fours, this is your opportunity to showcase exceptional pastry skills in a highly regarded, forward-thinking kitchen.

The Opportunity:
You will take ownership of the pastry section and be instrumental in driving standards, refining existing menus, and creating new, exciting dishes that complement our celebrated seafood and tasting menus. As Pastry Chef, you'll work closely with our Head Chef and Alex Aitken to ensure that desserts are a highlight of the dining experience and worthy of the acclaim The Jetty receives.

This is an ideal role for a pastry specialist who thrives in a high-end, fast-paced environment and is hungry to develop their career as part of a talented, driven team.

Salary is competitive and based on experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the pastry section with creativity, organisation, and technical precision.

  • Develop and execute a refined, seasonal dessert menu aligned with The Jetty’s identity and culinary ethos.

  • Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen discipline in line with our 5-star hotel standards.

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning, cost control, and kitchen innovation.

  • Mentor and develop junior pastry team members and apprentices.

  • Ensure all elements of desserts, breads, and afternoon tea items are consistently of the highest standard.

  • Contribute to the restaurant’s goal of achieving further accolades through standout pastry work.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or strong CDP with pastry specialism in a quality restaurant or hotel setting.

  • Excellent understanding of classical and modern pastry techniques, with a genuine passion for your craft.

  • Ability to work cleanly, calmly, and with precision under pressure.

  • A creative mindset with strong attention to detail and a natural flair for presentation.

  • Organised and efficient, able to manage prep and service across varied menus and events.

  • A collaborative team player with a positive, can-do attitude and professional pride.
