As a Hotel Receptionist at Harbour Hotel Southampton, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, delivering exceptional 5-star customer service from arrival through to departure. You will play a key role in creating memorable guest experiences by providing a warm welcome, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring every interaction reflects the luxury standards of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome guests professionally and efficiently, ensuring a seamless check-in and check-out experience.
  • Provide exceptional 5-star customer service, exceeding guest expectations at every opportunity.
  • Handle reservations, room allocations, and guest requests accurately using the hotel management system.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest enquiries, complaints, and special requests.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of hotel facilities, local attractions, dining options, and events to assist guests effectively.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, food & beverage, and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Process payments, invoices, and cash handling procedures in accordance with company policies.
  • Answer telephone calls and email enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.
  • Ensure the reception area remains clean, organised, and representative of a luxury hospitality environment.

  • Anticipate guest needs before they arise and proactively offer assistance.

Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a hotel reception, front office, or customer service role is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Professional, friendly, and approachable manner.
  • Competent IT skills and experience using hotel reservation systems 'Opera'.
  • Flexible approach to working shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
