Laundry Assistant/ Driver

Part time, 16 hours per week, working 2 days over 7 (to include weekends on a rota basis) 

£12.71 per hour, plus TRONC

Laundry plays a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of presentation and comfort across the hotel. Responsible for the care of guest linens, and operational laundry, the team works with precision, efficiency, and expert fabric‑care knowledge. With a strong focus on sustainability, responsible laundering practices, and fabric longevity, the department supports Swinton Park’s commitment to quality, environmental care, and exceptional luxury hospitality standards.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Laundry Assistant to join our Laundry team and help maintain the exceptional standards our guests expect.  


The Role

As a Laundry Assistant, you will play an important part in delivering outstanding guest experiences by ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and laundry care across the estate. You will be responsible for processing guest and estate laundry, maintaining laundry facilities and equipment, and supporting the wider housekeeping operation when required.

Key Responsibilities Laundry Operations

  • Follow established procedures and work practices to deliver the highest quality of laundry service.
  • Process guest laundry, including washing, hand washing, ironing, and minor repairs where required.
  • Launder soft furnishings and other estate laundry items as needed.
  • Carry out general cleaning duties within the laundry and housekeeping areas.
  • Monitor stock levels and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
  • Maintain laundry equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition.

Teamwork & Support

  • Build positive working relationships within the Housekeeping and Laundry teams, as well as with colleagues across the wider estate.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Support other departments when required and undertake additional duties as directed by management.

Service Standards

  • Report for duty on time, wearing the correct uniform and maintaining grooming standards.
  • Consistently uphold Swinton Estate's service and cleanliness standards.
  • Attend training sessions and development opportunities as required.

Health & Safety

  • Adhere to all health, safety, fire, and emergency procedures.
  • Report hazards, defects, and safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, safe, and sanitary working environment.
  • Operate equipment safely and responsibly to protect yourself and others.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Takes pride in delivering high standards of work.
  • Has excellent attention to detail.
  • Is reliable, organised, and hardworking.
  • Works well both independently and within a team.
  • Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Previous laundry, housekeeping, or hospitality experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
