Fitness Coach - Part Time (zero hour contract)
Salary - £12.71 per hour plus Tronc

About the Role

As a Fitness Coach, you will be responsible for providing a warm and welcoming experience for all members and guests, delivering expert fitness advice, and promoting health and wellbeing throughout our Country Club & Spa facilities.

You will work closely with members to assess their fitness needs, design tailored exercise programmes, and support them in achieving their personal goals. Alongside delivering exceptional fitness experiences, you will help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer care across the facility.

Key Responsibilities Fitness & Member Experience
  • Welcome members and guests warmly, creating a positive and professional environment.
  • Deliver expert fitness advice and wellbeing guidance.
  • Conduct fitness assessments and create personalised exercise programmes.
  • Perform member inductions and ensure safe and effective use of gym equipment.
  • Motivate and support members in achieving their fitness goals.
  • Lead group fitness classes in line with your qualifications.
  • Promote member engagement and retention through outstanding customer service.
  • Ensure all fitness equipment is operating correctly and report any faults promptly.
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of membership packages and promote services accordingly.
  • Actively identify opportunities to promote and upsell services across the Country Club, Spa, and wider Estate.
Teamwork & Communication
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and development programmes as required.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication within the Country Club & Spa team.
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the Estate, including the Hotel and Bivouac teams, to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Support colleagues and other departments when required.
  • Work flexible shifts to meet the needs of the business.
Service Standards
  • Maintain accurate customer records and update information as required.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and represent Swinton Estate professionally at all times.
  • Respond confidently and courteously to customer enquiries.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Estate facilities, products, and services.
  • Report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform and adhering to grooming standards.
  • Participate in all required training and development activities.
  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the fitness facilities.
Health & Safety
  • Follow all departmental emergency procedures and fire safety protocols.
  • Identify and report hazards promptly and appropriately.
  • Work safely at all times to protect yourself, colleagues, and guests.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work area.
  • Report defective equipment or materials immediately.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Level 2 Gym Instructor Qualification (minimum).
  • Fitness coaching or personal training experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of fitness programme design and exercise prescription.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
  • Level 3 Personal Trainer Qualification.
  • Group exercise qualifications.
  • Experience working within a health club, leisure, spa, or hospitality environment.
  • First Aid qualification.
