 Job Summary: 
The Host/Hostess makes guests feel welcome and provides exceptional guest service by greeting guests upon arrival, escorting them to their table, ensuring their dining experience has been excellent, and bidding guests farewell as they leave. They also manage seating charts, respond to guest inquiries and phone calls, and assists fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships. 

 Pay: $18 - $21 / hour

Essential Duties: 

  • Maintain a professional image and a neat, clean, and cheerful nature.
  • Answer telephone promptly and respond to questions accordingly.
  • Greet guests upon arrival and assist guests while on a waiting list.
  • Inform manager on duty of waiting list and the waiting period for guests. 
  • Maintain track of reservations as specified in Training Handbook. 
  • Inform manager on duty of any problems and take fast action when necessary. 
  • Bid farewell to guests as they leave and ensure everything was outstanding. Invite guests to return. 
  • Perform shift change/closing duties before leaving. 
  • Keep front area clean and Retail Organized 
  • Inspect restroom every fifteen minutes. 
  • Restock necessary supplies and bring all areas up to standard. 
  • Must wear approved manufacturer certified slip resistant or non-slip shoes at all times while working 
  • Participate in and pass alcohol awareness and safety training classes and food safety training. Experience: 
  • 2+ years similar experience preferred. 
Required Skills: 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Must be able to pass host/hostess training and validation 
  • Must be neatly dressed and well-groomed in clean Company uniforms at all times. 
  • Must be able to operate P.O.S. computer, make change correctly, and make credit card transactions. 
  • Adherence to all Company and Safety Policies and Procedures. 
  • Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate in English. 

Key Responsibilities

Guest Relations:

  • Greet and welcome guests with warmth and professionalism.
  • Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently.
  • Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests with courtesy and promptness.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and train host/hostess staff to provide top-notch service.
  • Coordinate host/hostess schedules to ensure proper coverage.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Organization and Coordination:

  • Maintain an organized and efficient seating chart.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and serving staff to optimize table turnover.
  • Monitor and manage waitlists during peak hours.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with servers, management, and kitchen staff.
  • Provide clear instructions to the host/hostess team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Handle customer feedback and communicate it constructively to the team.

Problem Solving:

  • Address and resolve issues related to reservations, seating, and guest concerns.
  • Proactively identify potential challenges and implement solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in as a lead restaurant host/hostess in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with reservation systems.

Qualifications Skills Required

  • 2+ years of Hosting Experience
  • Communication Skills - Intermediate
