Position Overview:

The Managing Director at Rusty Pelican Miami will be the driving force behind the restaurant's strategic direction, operational excellence, and financial performance. This leader will oversee all aspects of the restaurant and special events, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction, team engagement, and alignment with the company’s vision and goals. The Managing Director will report directly to the corporate leadership team and serve as a key representative in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute short- and long-term strategies to achieve financial and operational goals.
  • Maintain and enhance the restaurant’s reputation as a premier dining destination in Miami.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards in service, food quality, and overall guest experience.
  • Implement best practices to maximize operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Drive revenue growth through innovative sales, marketing, and event strategies.
  • Monitor and manage costs, including labor, food, and operating expenses.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing management team and staff.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Recruit, train, and retain top talent to ensure continuity and excellence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Represent Rusty Pelican Miami in local business and community events to enhance brand presence.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and implement innovative ideas to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with culinary and beverage teams to keep offerings fresh, appealing, and on-brand.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in Restaurants and Hospitality.
  • Strong familiarity with OSHA and all local Department of Health Regulations.
  • 3 years related experience in a similar role, managing a minimum of 20MM in annual revenue in an upscale concept.
  • 7 years’ progressive hospitality management experience in a high-volume, full-service atmosphere. ·        Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate English.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skillsets; Ability to handle multiple high-level projects successfully.
  • Must be able to assess multiple markets to determine opportunities and challenges for sales growth.  Subsequently execute strategies to achieve long term success.
  • Must be able to create and maintain a strong team atmosphere and positive culture.  
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of payroll basics.
  • PC literate with a working knowledge of MS Office.   
  • Advanced POS knowledge.
