Assistant Restaurant Manager


Description
ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

Summary/Objective

Manage all areas of operations of full service/quick service operations within the Airport, including but not limited to, training and retaining an excellent staff, delivering outstanding hospitality, food cost, labor cost, shared P&L responsibility, running shifts, teaching and learning, sanitation, safety and cleanliness, while adhering to all company policies and procedures. This position reports directly into Unit Manager.

Essential Functions
 Responsible for daily management of the restaurant(s) including, operational, financial, quality and brand partner relations.
 Drive direct reports and hourly team members in the areas of new product introductions and promotional programs; help to guide implementation of these items and provide training to direct reports and hourly team members accordingly.
 Responsible for handling guest complaints/comments, and using them for making improvements.
 Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts, using calculator or computer.
 Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, and similar items accurately and timely.
 Performs general clerical functions within the business/restaurant(s), which include payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable and operating statements.
 Resolve conflict involving management, hourly employees, and guests through providing resolutions and proactively solving problem scenarios.
 Effectively control financials, personnel management, facilities, marketing, food preparation and quality, and general business operations.
 Identifies potential or existing operational problems and initiates, develops, and implements appropriate solutions and measure results.
 Ensures team is knowledgeable on job expectations.
 Ensures products and merchandising brand standards are adhered to.
 Conduct ongoing training and hold direct reports and hourly team members accountable for knowing, demonstrating and effectively utilizing systems, tools, processes, and equipment which enable guest loyalty and increased profitability.
 Communicate & train all aspects of company programs and standards to direct reports and hourly team members.
 Manage and handle any cash handling control efficiently.
 Support other duties assigned by the management.

Required Education & Experience

 Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a concentration in hospitality, or in a related field.
 Must have a minimum of 2 years of increasingly responsible restaurant/food service management experience (direct P&L
responsibility) and/or franchise operations management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 Must be proficient utilizing MS Office Suite applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
 Ability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
 Dynamic and positive attitude to support our culture and work environment.
 Highly analytical, perceptive, and with sound judgment.
 Ability to juggle multiple tasks, effectively prioritizes assigned job duties, and meet deadlines.
 Flexibility to support various operations and work activities during busy seasons.
 Service oriented approach is essential to support all team members.
 Ability to work individually and within a highly collaborative team environment.
 Exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to interface effectively with all levels of management in the field and at the

SSP corporate offices.
 Ability to effectively influence through knowledge, relationship management, and trust.
 Ability to conduct gap analysis between desired and current state of expressed goals, based on business planning,
knowledge of basic business operations, employee satisfaction, consumer satisfaction, and marketing effectiveness.
 Excellent written and verbal communication, including delivering presentations at public meetings.
 Effective organizational maturity to prioritize daily, weekly, monthly and yearly activities.
 Ability to effectively manage conflict and ensure successful outcomes. Ability to deal with high stressful situations and
exercise sound judgment and decision making
 Flexible schedule as business demands. Regular office attendance required.


Supervisory Responsibilities
This position manages all team members and direct management reports of your assigned department(s) and is responsible for leadership of the team members within this department(s). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, independently directing the work of other team members, preparing and adjusting work schedules, making employment decisions (i.e. hire, discipline, terminate, etc.) or making recommendations of the same, and other responsibilities listed within this job description.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Must have availability to work weekdays and weekend. Hours of employment are contingent on business needs, work required and/or as job duties demand.

Work Environment
This job operates in an airport environment, both pre and post-security. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and multiple computer programs, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The team member is required and must have the ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, twist, and lift for extended periods of time.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to establish eligibility to work in the United States. This position requires Transportation Security Administration (TSA) clearance and/or a comprehensive Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) background check.
