Think modern, seasonal British pub fare elevated with sensational small plates, and Sunday roasts that people plan their weekends around. Behind the bar: craft beers, signature cocktails, fine wines and some seriously good spirits.

You'll be the sort of person who…

• Genuinely loves food and drink — you've got opinions about house pickles and you'll happily argue the case for your favourite grape
• Lives and breathes hospitality. Full sections, a wobbly Saturday night, a table of twelve who "booked for six" — you're grinning, not sweating
• Great knowledge of the London food scene. You know who to watch and where you want to eat next.
• Has run a busy site before and can prove it — happy team, tight numbers, glowing regulars
• Leads from the floor, not the office. Your team would follow you into a Bank Holiday weekend

What you'll actually do

Run the pub like it's yours. Build and look after a brilliant team. Keep the food and drink offer sharp and seasonal. Watch the numbers as closely as the guest experience. Make St. John's Tavern the pub people in N19 (and well beyond) can't stop banging on about.

What we’re Looking For: 

• Put your heart on your sleeve: take ownership, be bold, and run the business as if it’s your own 
• Stay cool under pressure—calm, composed, and unflappable  
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a General Manager 
• Deep knowledge of premium gastropub food & drink businesses 
• Strong communication and organisational skills; approachable leadership 
• Superb customer and floor service skills 
• Solid financials, operations, and customer-satisfaction know-how 
• Entrepreneurial flair and a genuine passion for people development 
• Love to train, mentor, and grow a high-performing team 
• Personal License holder is a plus
