Job description
SUMMARY & MISSION

The Hostess greets all guests with genuine enthusiasm and warmth upon arrival.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

1. Maintain complete knowledge of:
Dining room layout, table/seat/section numbers, proper table setups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code
2. Restaurant reservation procedures
3. Daily house count, arrivals, departures, VIP's
4. All department policies / service procedures
5. Communicate reservation or cancellation changes to management as they arise throughout the shift.
6. Ensure that all menu's, check folders are cleaned and in sufficient quantity.
7. Ensure that the hostess stand is cleaned and organized.
8. Greet the guests at the entrance of the restaurant.
9. Seat Guest accordingly to floor plan / being fair to each waiter.
10. Show guests their table which has been designated to them
11. Ensure that the guests are pleased with their table.
12. Present the open menu to the guest.
13. Ensure that the tables are set to the best service of the guest.
14. Anticipate heavy business times and organize procedures to handle waiting lines.
15. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
16. Monitor guests' reactions and confer frequently with management to ensure guest satisfaction.
17. Monitor and participate to ensure that all tables are cleared and reset according to the department procedures.
18. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and working conditions of own section equipment and supplies.
19. Assist restaurant staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guest: when requested.
20. Establish and maintain a good rapport and working relationships with staffs, guests and suppliers.
21. Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
22. Undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the General Manager.
23. To assist in Menu printing.
24. To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform.
25. Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
26. To attend training and meetings as and when required.
27. Undertake any reasonable task and secondary duties as assigned by the General Manager.
