We’re now looking for a motivated and customer-focused Retail Supervisor to lead our retail team and help deliver an exceptional customer experience. This role will also include supporting kitchen operations when required, so flexibility and a hands-on approach are essential.

What you’ll be doing

• Supervising daily retail operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service
• Leading, motivating, and developing your team to deliver outstanding customer experiences
• Welcoming customers and providing expert product knowledge on seafood, sauces, wines, and gift items
• Supporting sales through upselling, recommendations, and exceptional service
• Managing tills, cash handling, and stock control accurately
• Overseeing merchandising, displays, stock rotation, and maintaining presentation standards
• Supporting deliveries, stock organisation, and inventory management
• Upholding the Rick Stein brand standards in service, quality, and cleanliness
• Assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and performance development of retail staff
• Supporting kitchen operations when required, including food preparation, maintaining cleanliness standards, and assisting the kitchen team during busy periods

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in retail, hospitality, kitchen, or a supervisory role
• A warm, approachable, and confident leadership style
• A passion for food, drink, and high-quality produce
• Strong communication and team coaching skills
• Commercial awareness and the ability to drive sales through excellent service
• Reliability, organisation, and a proactive, hands-on approach
• Flexibility and willingness to support both retail and kitchen operations
• Pride in presentation, attention to detail, and high standards

 Stein’s Deli is stocked ceiling-high with our homemade jams, chutneys, relishes, spice mixes and oils, all made to Rick’s recipes. There are freshly baked goods including pasties, breads & pastries, all handmade and produced by us in Padstow.
