What You’ll Do

As a Sommelier at STK Steakhouse, you will be the wine expert and ambassador, curating an exceptional wine experience for our guests. Your mission is to elevate beverage service through expert recommendations, wine pairings, and education while maintaining STK’s high standards for hospitality and guest engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curate an exceptional wine experience by recommending and serving wines tailored to guest preferences
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the wine list, vintages, varietals, and pairing recommendations
  • Guide guests through wine selections, explaining profiles and pairing options with STK’s signature menu
  • Assist in wine list development and inventory management, ensuring proper stock levels and varietal diversity
  • Oversee the proper storage, handling, and serving techniques for all wines and champagnes
  • Educate servers, bartenders, and front-of-house staff on wine offerings, service, and pairing techniques
  • Conduct wine tastings, staff training sessions, and VIP wine experiences
  • Ensure a seamless and engaging dining experience, assisting with service and hospitality as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations in all beverage areas
  • Stay current with wine trends, industry innovations, and new offerings to enhance the wine program
  • Execute tasks assigned by Beverage Directors, Chefs, and Restaurant Leadership with professionalism and enthusiasm

What We’re Looking For

  • Certified Sommelier (Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET Level 2+ preferred)
  • Previous experience as a Sommelier, Wine Director, or Beverage Manager in a high-volume, upscale restaurant
  • Deep knowledge of wine regions, varietals, tasting notes, and food pairings
  • Exceptional guest service skills, with the ability to engage and educate guests on wine selections
  • Strong sales and upselling abilities, with a focus on enhancing the guest experience
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Passion for wine education, hospitality, and continuous learning
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift to 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
