Job Description

The MC Hotel is looking for an experienced Food & Beverage Manager to oversee daily operations on property, including the Splendid Rooftop, Allegory Restaurant, and banquet and catering events.  The ideal candidate is experienced across all front of house positions, including serving, bartending, expediting/running food, banquets, and hosting.  Additionally, experience in daily administrative tasks including entering tips, scheduling, payroll, and other back office tasks as necessary.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations including cleanliness, organization, revenue opportunities and staffing

  • Provide exceptional guest service, thereby setting the standard for all employees

  • Train, coach and develop all front-of-house employees through ongoing feedback and the establishment of performance expectations

  • Ensure restaurant and bar is in complete compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations

  • Meeting and greeting customers and organizing table reservations.

  • Organizing and supervising the shifts of kitchen, waiting and cleaning staff.

  • Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.

  • Is knowledgeable on all DOH requirements pertaining to establishment.

 

Competencies and Skills Required

  • At least 2 years' experience in restaurant and/or hotel operations

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to divide responsibilities and monitoring progress

  • Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts 

  • Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)

  • Basic understanding of how to calculate cost of good sold & restaurant financials 

  • Experience with common back-office software, including Toast, MS Office, Harri, Craftable, and Open Table)

  • Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)

  • Credentials in health and safety training
