Description

As part of the Subway® Team, you as an Assistant Manager will focus on seven main things while working 37.5 hour - 43 hours per week.

  • Providing an excellent, fast and accurate Guest experience and ensures staff does same.
  • Ensuring that great food is prepared & served by yourself and all staff.
  • Keeping our restaurants functional, clean and beautiful. delegating tasks daily, and consistent follow up abilities are required.
  • Controlling inventory, Food Purchases and labor.  
  • Scheduling, managing team vacancies, training, leading and coaching 
  • Maintaining standards of restaurant safety and security while confirming all team members maintain standard processes.
  • Encouraging teamwork while motivating individuals to become the best version of themselves.

POSITION TITLE: Assistant Manager

REPORTS TO: Management/Franchisee

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Manager manages, coaches and leads restaurant staff to confirm daily operations and ensure that food safety, product preparation, cleanliness and inventory control standards are maintained. Helps manage staffing, scheduling, food controls, and all budgets. Maintains standards of restaurant safety and security. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position. Various partnership discounts are now available.  Must possess leadership, coaching and training skills.  The Assistant Manager is required to take over all job junctions of the manager when required. We are looking to fill this position immediately.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

1.   Assistant Manager performs all tasks and responsibilities to participate and ensure Restaurant is running at it's best   .

2.    Actively participates, trains, and manages food preparation to ensure that food safety, operations and speed of service standards are maintained.

3.   Coordinates and manages staff so that standards of cleanliness are maintained as outlined in the Subway® Operations Manual: Daily Procedures.

4.   Manages a staff of approximately 4 to 12. Assigns, oversees and evaluates work. Recommends promotion, transfer, or termination of team members. May conduct written and verbal staff evaluations. Supports manager in creating a clean motivating, welcoming environment.

5.   Performs paperwork duties and assists with product orders and inventory as needed.

6.   Assists with planning and participation of special events and promotions.

7.  Completes University of Subway® courses as directed. 

PREREQUISITIES

Education:   A proven Ability for Leadership and Coaching is a must. Diploma in Business preferred.

Experience: Experience in Restaurant Operations, preferably with Managerial experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Requires excellent communication skills, ability to deal with all levels of team members. Computer knowledge is desirable. Must be flexible and able to work ALL SHIFTS as needed.

Physical: Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register (cashier). Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 20 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
